Charming hotel on the outskirts with a 10 minute walk down to the medieval heart. Catherine, the owner is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and the rooms are comfortable. Parking is very private. The pool area is nice and there is a long balcony to sit out.

This is a charming and lovely place with the best views in Sarlat. The staff is so friendly made our time there splendid. Is a hotel boutique very cozy if you want to stay and rest is ideal. The main city is so close walking ,you can leave there your car. Next day they will prepare you a very nice breakfast so you can try delicatessen from that area. Thank you thank you for an amazing time, we hope to go back soon and enjoy more days this beautiful place

We stayed here in June for 3 nights with our daughter after she finished a school exchange in France. Christine was wonderful as she continued to speak to our daughter in French, encouraging her language skills and gave us endless amounts of information on the area of what we should see, do and eat. It was all perfect. The room was spacious and very clean. The pool was a nice reprieve from the heat. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and everchanging. Christine goes the extra mile for her guests and nothing was ever too difficult. Make sure you are there to experience the markets. The hotel is just an easy walk down the hill to the old town...slightly harder on the return...after all the beautiful food and wine.

What a brilliant small hotel! I visited with my teenage son for a few days so he could practice his French, and we also did a half day kayaking, and pottered around Sarlat eating loads of nice food. Christine was a superb host - giving us great tips on the area, and spoiling us at breakfast with even more great food. She even went way beyond when arranging to send the iPad to the UK after my son left it in the room. We also loved the pool. 5-10 mins walk into town, the main square is a great place to people watch! For food our two favourites were La Crémerie (lunch) and Coin Coin (casual evening dinner). La romana was decent for pizza too. Kayaking is a must do - we did the Vitrac to Beynac route which took 3.5 hours including an hour break in beautiful La rogue-gageac. Highly recommend the area and this welcoming small hotel!

Just returned from a 6 night stay at this lovely hotel. It's very peaceful and less than a 10 minute walk into Sarlat - which is gorgeous ( about 15 minutes back up hill). Pool area very nice and refreshing , especially at a time of over 40 degree heatwave! Room was clean and ample with very good air conditioning - thankfully. A stocked fridge and welcome pack were nice touches. We had breakfast most mornings which was very nice. Our host Christine was a star and was always available for a chat and to offer advice on where to visit or restaurants to eat. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Although the rooms are clean, bright, and spacious, such a relief after the couple of dark and small rooms we had experienced earlier in our trip, the real gem here is the owner, Christine. We arrived at 1pm and our room was ready! Christine, the owner, was very very helpful with great suggestions as to our proposed itinerary. She even found and made dinner reservations for us at an excellent restaurant downtown on a busy holiday night. People have talked about the walk up the hill and it might be an issue if you have mobility problems, but we found it refreshing after dinner and a nice quiet way to return from the busy market on Saturday morning.

Just stayed 3 nights at Bon Encontre - couldn’t be better. Lovely clean room with super en-suite shower room. Lovely pool area too. The breakfast is exceptional. Christine, the proprietor speaks good English and happily made an early breakfast (6.30am)for my husband and his friend who were going to an Archery competition on two of the mornings. There is a mini bar in the room and a lockable safe. We had appertains at the hotel before walking into Sarlat for dinner. The walk is downhill on the way out, but quite steep uphill to get back, although ok for us. Sarlat is definitely worth visiting. The Saturday am market is huge. The restaurants are very reasonable, and the food is mostly very good.
