At the end of our 3 week trip through India and Nepal, we wanted to relax for the last 3 days in Goa - Beleza by the Beach exceeded our expectations. Wanting a relax time, with excellent service, we decided on a boutique hotel in South Goa. We couldn’t have discovered a better place. Sandwiched between a rice paddy on one side, and the ocean on the other, it was both tranquil and fun. The restaurant was the best hotel restaurant of our trip. The menu was varied and all of the options looked wonderful. The seafood tasted like it was just taken from the ocean. We had a 2.5 lobster, tiger prawns, and sea bass - prepared perfectly. Chalton - our personal bartender and server - made us feel so welcome. The Peoples Beer he suggested for us, and the cocktails he made with the local gin and Feni, were so much fun! The beautiful Indian wedding - where everyone was so welcoming and gracious - was an added bonus. We had front row seat both nights, while dining in the restaurant, to watch the celebration and service. We cannot say enough good things about Beleza By the Sea - the beach is quiet with a lifeguard - the pools clean and fresh. Our room and the grounds were so clean. The director of housekeeping - Salvo - and our room attendant Frederick - did a wonderful job. The breakfast and staff were perfect. We enjoyed the fresh juice and milkshakes, omelets and Dosa made on site and the many Indian dishes. Vishka was a sweet hostess, she welcomed us each morning, and tried to get us a table on the patio overlooking the Rice Paddy each morning. Thanks Beleza for the special stay!

Our first stay at the Jasminn, recommended to us by friends. What a fantastic stay. The rooms are a good size with quirky decor and very comfortable beds. We stayed in a top floor pool view room with vaulted ceiling and balcony overlooking one of the two pools. The staff are so kind and helpful, especially our friend at security who always had a smile for us, and our beach shuttle drivers who all went out of their way to help my friend who has some mobility issues. The restaurant is excellent, catering for both western and Indian cuisines. The location is very peaceful but is within easy distance of good restaurants and beaches, either by walking or by taxi. Tanmoy the Manager is doing a great job with this hotel. We have been coming to Goa for 25 years and have stayed in many hotels and guest houses and this hotel makes for an excellent budget friendly stay in a pleasant area with great staff and facilities, so much so we have already booked to come back.

I have never stayed in such a filthy hotel in my life. We found black mould in all the rooms on the walls and particularly in the bathrooms. the refrigerators were un-usable with contamination. When the hotel management was asked to clean the rooms they made a half hearted attempt to clean the rooms. We had to show the staff how to clean and even then the rooms were only just habitable. The swimming pool had serious safety issues that were highlighted to the management and then ignored by them. The whole site is running with rats. I don't recommend anyone staying at this hotel ever. and I would also recommend that any pictures of hotel rooms on their web are carefully examined as the pictures of the ”Martins Comfort” hotel are completely misleading.
