16. Juli 2022
My wife and I stayed here for several days in early July 2022, while visiting our daughter during her college study abroad in Berlin. We chose one of the "compact" apartments. We got tremendous value. The open-floor included a queen futon-style bed, living space with a convertible sofa, kitchenette with eat-in dining set, full bath, with tub and shower, and airy feel with tall ceilings and big casement windows that look out onto the building's shaded quiet compound. The temperatures were in the mid-70s Fahrenheit maximum while we were there, and the apartment stayed cool and very comfortable. The apartment was extremely clean and very modern and well updated. With a few extra pieces of furniture for storage, I could see a young, minimalist person getting their start in life living here. The kitchen featured a cube refrigerator, small stainless food prep area and sink, and modern cabinetry. The apartment has adequate implements to prepare, cook and serve basic meals. We hit the local markets and brought in lots of breads, cold cuts, cheeses, berries, chocolates, nuts, wines and beers for cold meals and snacking, to augment our eating out. The building has a coin-operated laundry in the basement that we didn't get around to using. Rubbish and recycling removal is easy on the property. The neighborhood, Mitte, has tons of restaurants, bars, markets, and other stores, but the apartment and its immediate surrounding felt very quiet at all hours. The apartment is just off of Invalidenstrasse, and is an easy walk or tram ride along Invalidenstrasse to/from Hauptbanhof HBF (Berlin Central Station). The tram stop nearest the hotel is naturkundemuseum, at Invalidenstrasse and Hessische.
