Motto by Hilton Bentonville Downtown

The hotel is very trendy and modern looking. Our room was incredibly small and felt like a prison cell to me. We did not realize that it was possible to book such a small room. Would recommend future travelers ensure they book a larger room and would recommend that Hilton gets rid of their flex rooms at most properties. If such rooms continue to be offered, I would recommend multiple warnings during booking to make clear to potential guests that the room is very small.

The Motto has a great location just blocks from Bentonville Square. They push valet parking for $20 a night (and tips, I assume?) but there are surface lots nearby where you can park for free. Check in took longer than expected; we arrived shortly before 4 and didn’t get in until after 4:30. But the staff was very pleasant. Looks like they are catering to a “hipster” clientele with (playable) record albums decorating the lobby. Our room was smallish but clean, quiet and well-equipped. There is a coffee/pastry shop in the lobby and a Japanese restaurant on the premisis. We availed ourselves of the lobby bar. I’d stay there again.

The most disturbing and shocking experience I have ever had. BEWARE, there is at least one thief on the cleaning staff at the Motto Bentonville. Upon leaving my room and maneuvering my luggage through the door, I forgot to take my $2K Burberry coat from the rack from where I had specifically placed it for departure. I called the hotel back in less than 24 hours to claim my coat, feeling certain it would be hanging right where I had left it, as Room 616 had been cleaned but NOT assigned to another guest. Under such control conditions where only a few people had entered the room I was confident of its return, but it was gone!!!!! I spoke to a total of 3 people going up the management chain and ALL acted with complete indifference about the situation. Eric, the General Manager, said "We tell the staff they can't take any items home with them when they leave work." Really??!! How nice of you Eric. It's called STEALING Eric, it's NOT "taking items home with you." I'm absolutely beside myself over this. Eric nor the others even apologized, but instead blamed me by saying, "People leave things behind all the time in hotels." As if to say, "that's the way it goes lady." Unbelievable!!! NEVER again, NEVER again. And all of this happened after the following experiences: 1. I couldn't check into my room until 5pm due to cleaning. 2. My sink was clogged. 3. The smoke detector light was flashing on and off, and after reporting it the afternoon of my second day, I returned at 10 pm that night to find it was still flashing! Basically, I had to sleep with a strobe light by my bed all night. When I told the girls at check out that the detector had not been fixed,... right on cue, they acted with complete indifference. No apology for any inconvenience it may have caused. This was my second stay. 4. My first stay, I encountered the same problem and was told that "Maintenance," said it is normal for the smoke detectors to flash. I told the front desk no it wasn't and insisted maintenance return to the room. Come to find out the detector had not been properly installed. Exactly! 5. Continuing on with my first stay, the toilet was leaking, and I had to move all my items to another room. Again treated with such indifference about all the inconveniences. NEVER again, NEVER again.

Very disappointed in my experience with this hotel. We typically stay at the 21c but decided to try this place since it was new. When we checked in the room wasn’t ready. We also had a terrible time with getting our car from valet. At one point it took over 30min for them to find our car and we missed an appointment because of it. The staff was very friendly & The hotel did offer to refund one night of our stay as they are still “working out the kinks”. It has now been over a month since we stayed and I’ve called at least 4 times to check on the status of the refund, with no updates from them. They keep saying they will call me back but never do. It is very frustrating to continue being ignored. We were very gracious about the problems during our stay, but this hotel shouldn’t offer things they aren’t willing to follow through on.

Probably the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. The room was extremely small. So small that the bed had to be pushed up against the window/wall. I had to crawl over my wife to get out of bed in the middle of the night or in the morning. There is no bathroom (defined as a room with a sink, a toilet and a shower/tub). The sink area is in the very small sleeping area which made it impossible for me to get up and shave, wash my face or brush my teeth without disturbing my wife. The very small separate toilet area is ridiculous. Finally the very small separate shower area has a door that opens onto the entrance to the room. Water drips from the shower door onto the tile making it very slippery and dangerous. An absolutely horrible design to the room. Hilton should be embarrassed to have its name on the Motto brand. The lobby is beautiful and the employees were all very nice. Unfortunately, when you get to your room, the disappointment begins and remains. There is a nice bar in the lobby, but it closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and at 11 on weekends. Would recommend a Motel 6 over the Motto in Bentonville.

This is a great hotel in a wonderful location, definitely the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Bentonville. Forget the valet parking because u can park in the municipal lot for free which is behind the hotel and most likely where the valet will park your car anyway. It’s a short walk and Bentonville is super safe so no worries about your car or personal safety. We really enjoyed walking into town for meals, coffee, ice cream, and relaxing in the charming town square. The hotel has great coffee and pastries for sale in the morning and both an indoor and outdoor bar area get a beer or cocktail and sushi type food at the end of the day. There is an outdoor play area for kids as well. The Japanese restaurant came highly recommended but we could not get a reservation.
