We booked this place in Febrary 2025. One week before we were due to arrive in July our booking was cancelled. Beware! We will not book again.

A very nice and optimal location, and still quiet. An affordable hotel restaurant with a very high quality/price ratio. Most impressive was the kindness and service minded mentality of all the staff! Very good restaurant as well. We’ll be back 👍👍

I was asked to write a review so will do so. However I wasn’t actually able to experience the hotel itself – only the owner Violaine, who was most disagreeable and unreasonable. In brief, I had booked a few days here in July but ended up not being able to go. I exchanged numerous emails about this with the owner, as we were really hoping to go, but aware that we might not be able to I explained that if we didn’t come in July we would go in September instead. Therefore, I was quite happy for the booking to be changed, not cancelled, but it was too late for this on the *********** site. The owner assured me that if I cancelled I would ‘only’ pay 50% of the cost of the stay at the hotel so I ended up having to accept this as sadly we were unable to go. (even though I didn’t want to cancel, I just wanted to change and would have done this directly with her) I soon realised that I had been charged more than 50% which was not what I had expected. Many emails went back and forth between myself and the owner. Each time she argued that I knew I’d have to pay cancellation fees – yes I did but she had told me it would not be more than 50%. She blamed the fact that I/Booking.com hadn’t cancelled the booking in time for her to relet the room - even though she knew full well we weren’t going to be coming. I completely understand that it wasn’t good for her business, but as it was the height of summer it’s doubtful that the room wouldn’t have been relet and we had paid 300 euros for it anyway! Also, I explained on several occasions that we would like to come in September and would end up spending far more money, as we would be paying for meals and breakfasts and possibly staying for longer. In brief, she refused to offer any gesture of a small refund. I wasn’t expecting a full refund but a gesture would have been very much appreciated. 300 euros is a lot to lose. She was adamant she wasn’t going to budge, and she even accused me of ‘trying to persuade her to buy my silence’. We’ve been left 300 euros out of pocket and with a very bad experience of the customer services. All along I was clear about our plans, apologetic and polite but I certainly didn’t get this in return. I imagine the hotel is lovely, as is the owner when her customers are happy. I am anticipating a response to this review, no doubt telling me how everything was our fault and how accommodating she was!

A beautiful area but an overpriced hotel The area is beautiful and the building is very attractive. However, the corridors are gloomy and our bedroom, supposedly premium, can best be described as average. The swimming pool was clean and in good condition and there were plenty of comfortable sun loungers. We felt the room rate was higher than for comparable properties, particularly as breakfast was not included. Overall, rather disappointing.

Situated right under the cliffs as is the whole village with the Dordogne a short stroll away. You can rent canoes there paddle down the river for a few clicks and you don't have to paddle back, they come and get you, brilliant. The hotel is excellent good accommodation good food, and sooooo relaxing. Prices are reasonable, about right I would say. I wonder if the relaxing feeling is anything to do with the trees, something about endomorphines. Anyway if want a restful stay I recommend here.

This was our second hotel during our week long visit to the beautiful Dordogne region of France having driven from Bourdeilles via Perigueux and Brive-La-Gaillarde to Domaine Les Falaises, where we stayed 2 nights in September 2022. The hotel is situated in the small bill of Cluges which is quiet and secluded. The scenery is fabulous and the setting delightful. The hotel has a beautiful large swimming pool as you can see from the photos accompanying this review. The food served in the restaurant is to a very high standard and what I’m often wont to describe as haute cuisine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
