My daughter and I really enjoyed our room at Springhill Suites, and the lobby was a very nice place to hang out and relax. It is also the area where you eat their breakfast, which is also really good. Checkin was very easy, staff was attentive and professional. Our room was on level 3, right next to the elevator, but the noise from the elevator wasn't an issue (by the way, the elevators were fast). The problem that we had with noise was coming from above us. By the sounds of the constant running and thumping, I am guessing it was kids above us. Aside from the noise issue, the room was quite large and comfortable and clean. Plenty of lights, and great blackout curtains. I loved that the desk area with a couch could be separated from the bed area by a window-like glass panel. However, the panels were loose in the sliding track, and every step, every movement caused the glass panels to jiggle and make a clattering noise. I was able to finagle the panels so the clattering sound was minimized. The bathroom floor was in bad shape though. The tiles were badly laid, and the grout around them was crumbling. It was so significant that the tiles moved and slid when they were stepped on. I believe I could have just picked the tiles up from the floor, but I didn't want to do that. They need to get their subcontractors back to regrout those tiles. There were a couple of other issues in the bathroom in the shower. The controls for the shower are strange in that you have to turn your back to the shower head to find the control for the water temperature. There was no indication that it was a hot/cold control, and I took a mostly cold shower until I turned around and tried the lever on the opposite wall.. I have no idea what the controls in front of me were (my front to the shower head), but I ended up getting sprayed directly in the face twice. It was a bit confusing. Even with the shower door completely closed, water had pooled out of the bottom of the shower and onto the floor, running toward the carpeted room. I did what I could to sop up the water, but that shower door needed some work as well. I know all this sounds bad, but we really did like it here. It is a great hotel. I would come again, only I would ask for a room on the fourth floor. And I would hope that the bathroom tile issues were only in the room I was in, and not every room. Everyone who worked here was very nice, and we enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar.

Das ist ein schönes Hotel mit einer tollen Lage. Das heißt, wir waren nicht zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. Wir prüften und alles schien gut mit dem Zimmer, bis wir nach dem Abendessen wieder ins Zimmer kamen und bemerkten, dass die AC nicht das Zimmer kühlte. Ich rief den Vorderplatz an und sagte ihnen und fragte ein anderes Zimmer. Sie sagte, dass alle Zimmer gebucht wurden, so dass sie uns nicht bewegen konnte und schlug vor, dass wir einfach die AC ausschalten und den Fan laufen, da die coole Luft draußen würde cool.the Zimmer. Wie sie wusste, dass ich nur annehmen kann, dass es eine regelmäßige Beschwerde ist. Mein Mann und ich blieben hier vier Nächte, als wir für die HS-Abschluss kamen. Das war das nächste Hotel zu meiner Tochter und die meisten Bewertungen waren gut, so nahm eine Chance. Die Lobby- und Essensbereiche sind attraktiv und es gibt einen Patio mit herrlichen Blumen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im vierten Stock, einen Spaziergang vom Aufzug, der der ruhige war, den wir gefragt hatten. Wir hatten ein separates Schlafzimmer und die Küchenbereiche waren gut ausgestattet. Das Zimmer zeigte ein wenig Trage und Tränen (der Sofa war gebrochen und schwer aufzusetzen; ein Loch im Blackout-Girdatten) aber war sehr sauber. Ich habe den Computer unten benutzt, um Bordpasse zu drucken. WLAN funktionierte sehr gut! Das Frühstück war ausreichend; wir essen dort drei von unseren vier Morgen und machten nur gut. Die beiden Mitarbeiter, mit denen wir interagierten, waren nett und angenehm. Ich freue mich, einen Ort zu finden, an dem wir zurückkehren können, wenn wir wieder zu Besuch kommen.

Listen... For a utility hotel for a traveller, this is perfect. Staff - super professional. Room - super clean, good size. Facilities (gym) great. Located right next to the amazing Red Line Diner so no food worries. Even the grounds were 100% immaculate. SOMEONE has been doing their homework on how to design and run a modern hotel. Good job, guys.

The Holiday Inn Express at 2750 South Road in Poughkeepsie, New York has got to be an example of one of the worst properties in existence with the Holiday Inn name. My booking was for a four-night stay. When my wife and I arrived, we found the by a parking lot uneven and full of potholes. When I checked in there were no luggage carts to be found. The desk clerk was very nice and offered to search the hotel for a luggage cart. The design of the bathroom was horrible, the room was large but had a small single sink vanity that left no room for guest toiletries. The mirror behind the vanity had a bright light on each side that ran the full length of the mirror. The glare was so bad I could not see my face well enough to shave. The next day we were away from the property the entire day and upon returning we found that no service whatsoever had been performed. Very prominently in our room was a card displaying how the hotel would strive to perform all the functions such as trash disposal, refreshing towels and washcloths, making the bed, and generally performing all the duties a good hotel would do. None of these things were done. We complained to the front desk clerk, and she gave us some towels and washcloths. There was an apology but no offer of compensation. The charges for Saturday and Sunday were astronomical, especially for a property with no functioning pool. When I checked out, there was still no offer of compensation. I complained and was offered about $100 reduction and 500 points. My charges just for June 16th and June 17th were $650.67. I thought that offer was an insult. I complained to the clerk, and she responded that the hotel manager would get back to me in a few days. He did not, and about a week later I called him to complain. He became somewhat irritated and proceeded to tell me “how the hotel business ran”, and he was not going to do anything for me. I proceeded to tell him the clerk had already offered a pittance. He offered to return $112.13. Had this been a Marriott or Hilton property I know the manager would have totally comped the room for that night. The reason I know this is because other hotels that I have been to have gone out of their way to please their guests in this fashion.
