The hotel location is excellent and it has a lovely antique vibe with a modern twist, the bathroom is spacious as well. Things that could be improved: one light bulb is dead, the small bedside LED reading light on one side of our bed doesn't work, the kettle needs some descaling. We found a hair tie left on the floor carpet, maybe it was left by the last guest in the room.

The hotel had great location and tasty breakfast. The room was nice and good toilet. Great room service for bringing your delivered food to your room for you. However the staff needs to improve their communication skill and knowledge. I was told that I could buy breakfast prior to the day I want the breakfast and I didn’t have to book a time slot. However when I wanted to check out I was told that I was charged the price of the breakfast that is bought on the day, not the day prior. I later talked to the staff and they understood their staffs mistake. The hotel doesn’t have dinner service I was told.

Bath Abbey Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Property
I booked this hotel in Bath through trip.com. I took advantage of two promotions on the platform: a £5.99 railcard purchase and £5 off train tickets, both requiring booking a European hotel within 26 days through trip.com. Considering that the official website’s prices were quite similar, I went with the trip.com booking. I reserved a cozy room for 1 adult without breakfast for £113. Money-saving tip: I used TopCashback to access trip.com, earning $7.67 cashback for this booking. After I checked out, trip.com triggered an immediate discount of £10.46, which I applied to my next train ticket purchase.

This hotel falls under the Marriott Tribute Portfolio, embracing a boutique hotel approach. The entire establishment dates back to 1739, boasting a historic exterior. It’s conveniently situated just about 3 minutes’ walk from the Roman Baths and across from Sally Lunn’s. With my Marriott Platinum Card, even with a third-party reservation, the hotel upgraded us to a larger ground floor room facing the street after matching our account, but it’s not advisable due to potential noise. They also offered complimentary à la carte breakfast. Breakfast slots had to be reserved during check-in, and we chose a table at 10 AM. The breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The experience was excellent (the best things are free!). Unfortunately, I don’t have space for more photos, but I’ll post one of the restaurant later.
The room was quite small, designed in a modern British style, with a movie-themed decor according to the posters on the wall. All the amenities were provided, with local brand toiletries available for purchase at the front desk for £25 for two bottles. They were decent, but nothing extraordinary to consider bringing back home. The minibar had coffee, various teas, semi-skimmed milk packets, and biscuits. The bottled still water was in an aesthetically pleasing canned form.
🌟 There’s an Elemis sleep kit on the bedside: temple balm/sleep mist/eye cream, placed over a hotel postcard, looking quite exquisite.
The bed was very comfortable.
❌ However, there were a few drawbacks to this place… a bit unnerving… I’m not sure if I just had bad luck. The hotel corridors were somewhat confusing, and I accidentally opened the wrong room door once using my own room card. Strangely, the next day around ten o’clock, while I was in the bathroom and my son was on the bed, despite securing the latch on our door, someone managed to open it slightly, presumably seeing my son on the bed, and then closed the door. Perhaps it was a housekeeping staff member wanting to clean the room? Regardless, it felt quite odd… a little unsettling, to be honest

We arrived on the 3rd December. Hotel had a very warm welcome to it however once we have been allocated the room (4) things went wrong straight away. Room was nice and tidy however the heating was not working, the bathroom had a sewage smell and the bed straps pin was coming apart. When to reception twice to enquire about the heating in the room,
in the end I was given 2 heather and that’s it. The bed strap pin was removed by the receptionist and the smell in the bathroom stopped us from having a shower/bath as the smell was so bad. All we got was an apology upon departure and that’s all. Oh and the email for the manager as there was nothing they could do there and then. It ruined our experience. I believe the customer service could improve as there was not empathy shown at all.

The hotel is in exceptional location.
What I disatisfied was they served Sparkling water instead of still water.
Overall is great!
