Hotel Riviera Strand

A great place for families to relax right on the beach in Båstad. I would label the hotel as a children’s funhouse with a nice pool, not to be mistaken by a spa. But as children’s funhouse goes, this is top-notch, for children up to pre-teens. Great, spacious rooms - with separate bedrooms, family-friendly restaurant, lots of playful activities, good pool and sauna, and excellent location.

A great hotel for family time. The pools are excellent and open late. The beach is beautiful and there’s a lovely little town on your doorstep. The local buses are good for day trips as taxis are tricky to get for a larger group.

First of all, the area is very nice (located near the beach) and the hotel is very stylish. I guess it’s recommendable for families, but not for friends or couples… on top of that: Many dirty dishes every day, everything (for example bread rolls, different fruits) is thrown together in one basket on the buffet ). This is not helpful for people who have an allergy. Also the Choice of cheese was way too small. No real coffeine-free coffee. I could only eat a slice of turkey from the whole buffet due to my allergies! This has never happened to me before in any hotel that has 4 stars! Hard-boiled eggs were totally wabbly inside. When I asked for a normal hard-boiled egg because of my allergies, I had to wait 20 minutes and was given a strange look. Secondly, one day I ordered plain chicken without any spices - after 20 minutes of waiting I got chicken with spices … so they had to do everything again because I am allergic and I had to wait another 30 minutes. My husband was already done with his meal before that. The food itself was good though. It was the only thing I ate here. Pretty, but not possible to swim as an adult. We paid a lot of money to use the pool,! This is unacceptable . There were no (life) guards or anything preventing children from jumping etc. We did not even want to go near the pool area because it was so noisy. There is children‘s play stuff all over the place and regular paths are blocked by, e.g. a big football goal, which was placed in the middle of the regular path. Fridge and dish washing machine quite dirty, was cleaned when we told the receptionist about it. Damages in the room (for example the table on the balcony or big scratches on the kitchen table, chairs in the room). Shower door malfunctioning (opening all the time or closing, so moving into one’s direction while showering). The mattrasses were so soft and obviously used very often, in certain parts one would just sink in a lot (and I am not heavy!). My husband and I had backpain throughout the whole stay.

Very nice and my kids (8+11 years) enjoyed it. Especially the indoor heated pool was popular. Also good food.

We had a superb, activity filled stay at the wonderful Riviera Strand Hotel. Exceptionally great staff & excellent food. The combination of indoor & outdoor pools was perfect.
