Il Ciocco Hotels ★★★

"This complex of hotels, log cabins, restaurant and cycle hire is not part of the Renaissance Tuscany il Ciocco Resort & Spa. Although the entrance to the site from the main road is the same. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The view over to Barga and beyond is lovely. Our room was in the College Hotel, the building opposite Monteceneri Hotel where the reception is located. The room was a good size with a small balcony. Supplied with bottled water, coffee machine (a few pods), a desk and hanging area for clothes. The bed was large and very comfortable (we are very fussy). The bathroom had a shower and toiletries. We walked up the step road every morning for breakfast, very pleasant to listen to the birds and breath in the fresh mountain air. Breakfast was plentiful; fruit juices, coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, cakes, bread/toast, jams, honey, cheeses, hams, fresh fruit and yoghurt. We ate dinner at the Locanda Alla Posta restaurant twice during our week and enjoyed both meals. Overall we enjoyed our week at Il Ciocco Hotels."

"Wir waren mit Familie in diesem Hotel . Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und wird seinem Namen und vorallem dem Preis nicht gerecht. Wir mussten um Unternehmungen zu machen jedes Mal mindestens 30 min mit dem Auto fahren . Für Kinder absolut nicht geeignet. Kinderfreundlichkeit halt komplett gefehlt. Die Zimmer waren ok die Betten sehr schön . Allerdings war das Bad unsauber und auch da dringend Renovierung nötig. Das Restaurant ist völlig überteuert. Wir haben da den ersten Abend gegessen und waren extrem enttäuscht und waren an allen anderen Abend im Ort was essen. Das war auch schwer … immer reservieren und freundliche italienische Gastfreundschaft haben wir nicht erlebt."

"We stayed sadly for 1 night only due to time constraints ! The staff are welcoming, friendly and highy efficient. The building is very well presented and is very well maintained. A stunning Victorian Style Tuscan Villa, the hotel rooms are set on 2 upper sprawling floors. lovely rooms, immaculately turned out with impressive landing areas which you can relax and use. An outdoor swimming pool in on offer as well. Breakfast is very comprehensive, served by wonderfully cheery ladies. Nothing is too much bother ! Please give it a go, you won't be disappointed !"

"Rita ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie hat viele Tipps für Die Umgebung und Restaurants etc. Das Zimmer war sauber, das Bett bequem. Das Frühstück ist einfach, aber von hervorragender Qualität. Einzig eine Klimaanlage im Raum hätte ich mir noch gewünscht, denn ich war im August da und es waren 36 grad…"
