The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa

Kashmir has been always on our bucket list for years and finally this year in Jan 2025 we managed to fulfill this long overdue holiday wish through Gulmarg. The Khyber Himalayan resort has been certainly one of the most memorable stays we have experienced. Lovely beautiful property midst the snow capped mountains and valley. Great ambience, food, service and comfort. Our 4 year toddler enjoyed the stay, played a lot with the snow and had a blast in the heated indoor pool. To top it off, we had Khurshid pick us up and drop us back in Srinagar. A very safe pair of hands, kind and helpful. Despite the snowy conditions Khurshid skilfully drove through the valley. He also had a lot of good suggestions to explore while in Gulmarg. Also played a big hand making this all worthwhile. Certainly looking forward to visiting Gulmarg and staying in The Khyber again.

If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway in Gulmarg, The Khyber Resort is the place to be. Nestled amidst stunning snow-capped peaks, this resort offers a truly picturesque experience. The views alone are worth it—imagine waking up to a blanket of white, with pristine mountains stretching as far as the eye can see. And It’s just 100 meters from the Gulmarg Gondola. The hospitality here deserves a special mention. Bilal and Nazima went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Food at The Khyber is excellent! The Lebanese restaurant is a standout—not only does it serve authentic cuisine, but the addition of sheesha makes it an even more enjoyable experience. Don’t miss Brava, where I highly recommend trying their Spaghetti Arrabbiata—it’s absolutely delicious. Also, all restaurants here are BYOB for in-house guests which was a surprise for us. If you’re planning to visit, make sure to go during the snow season. The magic of The Khyber in winter is unmatched, with its cozy interiors and breathtaking surroundings.

One of the best stays and expirence. A wonderful welcome R airport and our driver Khurshid was there to greet us with a Kashmiri smile , and showed us around o the way to Khyber. Hotel is amazing , great service great food very warm and cozy. The pool is one for bucket list. Khurshid guided us plan our trip and it was a great help.

Stayed at Khyber for the 2nd time this September, 2024 as we wanted a different experience after the 1st visit during the snowy season in 2018, which was magical. But the end of monsoon season is as beautiful! Greenery and ofcourse the clean fresh air is all we want for a break atleast from the concrete cities we live in. The rooms, the restaurants are all nice and comfortable. No complaints (except that it would be nice to be served coffee/tea in the restaurant even late evenings). What makes Khyber the best place to stay in Gulmarg, or the entire Kashmir region, is definitely it's location (you don't need to go out of the resort really, to enjoy the most picturesque views). Second, and as important almost, is the hospitality. The staff are very efficient, polite and pro-active. They take all the effort in making it a memorable stay for you. I wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday (in advance while we were there), so they arranged for a small cake that evening as a surprise (as I'd requested for one), and even decorated the place with birthday balloons and flowers. It was really special indeed. Big shoutout to Arif, for best service, his friendliness and warmth. Zahid gave us great knowledge about the place and motivated us to be back soon for skiing too! Chef Gupta (can't recall full name) was too sweet; all our requests were met with immediately (hot hot mooli parathas, yummy french toasts, sweeeet lassi). The fresh apple juice was the best ever and we gulped down so many glasses! I asked for a certain tweak in the Kahwa, and that was also done to my satisfaction. Truly grateful for such a memorable experience that now we certainly will be back for a 3rd time. :)

The pillows are the fluffiest I’ve ever felt, Food was amazing, staff was so kind n helpful One of the staff member named Asmat was very helpful and nice by nature . View is Amazing for photos, game zone is awesome, kids enjoyed a lot, Pool is very nice with beautiful view,, overall loved it.

The Khyber is a beautiful luxury resort nestled in the Himalayas. The rooms are big and spacious with all amenities. The staff is polite and hospitable. Special thanks to Beenish at the reception desk to give us an upgrade. The breakfast spread is lavish and you are spoilt to the hilt with its menu. The staff at the restaurant is very courteous . I was particularly touched by the gesture of one of the staff. My husband was down with stomach upset so I called only for a parantha and curd for which I was told that it would be on the house. I insisted on paying and I did too. But I truly appreciated his gesture. Thank you for the lovely memories and the awesome stay.
