Gaun Ghar

We have just spent 1 night at the hotel as part of an escorted tour of Nepal. Bandipur is a small town with lots of rustic charm and the Gaun Ghar fitted right in. The hotel is quite basic but that added to its charm. The hotel is situated along a pedestrian roadway so guests have to access their hotel by walking along the roadway. The hotel is a converted house with quaint rooms, just shutters at the windows (no glass) the bed was a little hard by western standards and there was no air con but there was a floor standing electric fan to cool the room. The management and staff were excellent and we're so helpful. The staff of which there were a few ladies were insistent on carrying our luggage up the wooden staircase to our rooms. The food was simple but excellent. Bandipur was a lovely quaint town and it would have been nice to have stayed for 1 or 2 days more.

Authentic old style hotel with fabulous food and service. Rooms have stunning views of the Himalayas. Rooms were lovely staying true to the authentic style with modern facilities. I was made very welcome and every member of staff made me feel very welcome.
