This was our first visit to Hotel Bois Joli, and indeed the town, staying here overnight before catching the ferry the next day. The town itself, which is very attractive, developed as a spa town in the late 19th century, and the hotel building must have been one of those built at the time to accommodate the increasing number of tourists. The hotel looks put over a park in the town, and there is ample off road parking in the grounds / garden. We received a very warm welcome, and our room was very clean and comfortable, although some of the communal areas, notably the stairs and landing, looked a little tired. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel, and breakfast the next morning was probably one of the best, if not the best, we have had in France. We shall definitely use this hotel again when returning home from France.

The room was basic with a kitchenette, bathroom with toilet shower and sink and a bedroom with wardrobe Tv and small table and chairs. We were visiting g family so we spent most of the time away from the hotel so can’t comment on the facilities. I found sleep a problem as the bed was rock hard and there is no air con in the room. We had to have the window open but there were no fly screens so ended up with bugs. The bed has one pillow per sleeper with no extra pillows. You shouldn’t need to ask for extra pillows. Air con is expected as standard at a Four star resort. The breakfast consists of a continental breakfast - hot options are limited - the bread with meats and cheeses is lovely and having French butter is a lovely treat. The coffee is also lovely. The hotel fails to address the details which you would expect from a 4 star resort, which is a shame. For the purposes of visiting family, it was a convenient location, but there are other options for our next visit, so we probably won’t stay here again.
