Juma Amazon Lodge

Super attentive and friendly staff, great jungle tours, amazing ambience and food. Nice and clean rooms, no insects because the river is acidic. Just make sure you research the seasons (dry/rainy). We were there in dry season which is great for exploration, but has less wildlife and water. But it was dry which also has its benefits. Kind of like rainforest-light. Special highlights of the staff: Daniel and Loester were great hosts and super helpful in every matter.

We had the most incredible experience at Juma Lodge, made possible by the caring and thoughtful staff. The lodge itself is beautiful and very well set up, but the people are really what makes this place special. From the moment we arrived, Daniel and the team were so welcoming and eager to make sure we had the best experience possible in the Amazon. We could not have asked for better guides to help us get some true Amazon experiences, Nelson and "Sargento". Nelson made sure we were prepared for each adventure and his passion for sharing life in the Amazon made each excursion really special. Sargento made sure we all got to our excursions safely by boat and made sure nobody fell behind on our jungle walks. Sargento was a really great teacher, showing lots of patience in teaching me to make a fan out of palm leaves and my husband how to climb the acai tree. They were also really fun, and funny, gentlemen. We had a blast exploring with them and getting to know them. The final thing that stands out to me about Juma is the food. The food was really good, and well balanced to provide the energy needed for the jungle hikes. Everyone went above and beyond to help my husband navigate his nut allergy. We highly recommend Juma Amazon Lodge to anyone considering a trip to the Amazon.
