The Venetians gradually established their rule over the island fromThere are many stories referring to Venetian dukes and noblemen in the area, army parades and dancing ceremonies of the 16th century but also to terrible battles against the Ottomans on the 17th. The coat of arms (stamp) of a great local commander Alessio Calergi, still visible by our pool has its origin in the year 1290.
