This was my third visit to Gijon, and it won't be my last. A short 1 3/4 hour flight from Gatwick with Vueling, and a 1/2 hour taxi ride from OVD (Asturias) Airport and I was in town. The hotel reception staff were attentive from check-in to check-out, even helping out with a minor injury! The hotel room was spotless, with plenty of storage space, writing desk and a comfy bed. The ensuite was A1, with excellent shower and other accessories including a hairdryer and even a bidet (unused...!). The continental breakfast was fine and as expected, delicious coffee!! Gijon is not a large town but offers plenty. The expansive San Lorenso beach front with a huge promenade, makes an ideal surf beach which isn't ideal for small children, but behind the bay is another beach, near the marina, which is ideal for younger families. The restaurants, oh the restaurants... I ate two large meals a day and never at the same restaurant twice, all very reasonably priced one clear recommendation is the Fabada, a basic meal comprising of beans, with chorizo and pork (or clam), with flavours you'll never have enjoyed before! Hotel céntrico y cómodo, cercano al puente romano, en la plaza del pueblo, junto al Ayuntamiento. En la trasera hay un parking grande pero es de pago hasta el sábado al mediodía, aunque hay zonas cercanas para aparcar gratuitamente. El personal de recepción es agradable. La habitación muy amplia y decorada con gusto, parece renovada, un baño grande con ducha y bañera gigante. Las almohadas son cómodas y la cama grande pero en el centro había cómo una diferencia de altura, es posible que lo formaran 2 colchones de diferente grosor o 2 somieres con el ajuste de las patas diferentes. También dispone de un sofá que se convierte en cama. Las persianas tienen tecla de subida y bajada automática. Tv grande con muchos canales. En el baño, en la zona de espejos hay poca iluminación y es escasa para maquill**** o ver con nitidez la cara.... El desayuno variado con fruta, yogures, cafés e infusiones, zumo y bollería industrial pero sabroso y embutido. No hay huevos, ni bacon ni similar, pero está bien y es suficiente para salir desayunado del hotel. Si vuelvo por la zona repetiré. El hotel dispone de bar y restaurante, que tiene buena pinta, con terraza, y se ve frecuentado por los lugareños.

Nuestra experiencia fue mala. No nos contestaron a los mensaje diciendo que llevábamos mascota. Cuando llegamos nos pidieron fianza (que tuvimos que solicitar para que la devolvieran) de 50 y unas condiciones sobre la perrita ( que no podía pasar de 10kg). La ducha estaba llena de pelos de los clientes anteriores y se salía el agua al minuto de empezar a ducharte. El mando de la televisión estaba bajo las camas (suelo lleno de polvo y pelusas) entrando una de las trabajadoras dando a entender que nos habíamos llevado el mando de la tele. En la habitación había una puerta con acceso a la habitación contigua, y se escuchaba hasta el ronquido del inquilino. El vaso del baño estaba estallado y una mancha en la pared muy sospechosa. Nosotros no volveremos nunca.

Súper bien servicio, sobre todo porque tienen recepción 24 horas, lo cual es genial porque algunos vuelos tienen horas curiosas para los check-in. Además, el día que llegue (sobre las 23:30) me prepararon un panini porque no había nada abierto para comer. Está a un paseito andando al centro, y si llevas coche, hay mucho aparcamiento. Repetiría sin duda :)

Very conveniently located -- I walked to and from the bus station, and most of the main attractions were also an easy walk away. There are also bus stops and a laundromat nearby, and restaurants beside and across it. The hotel is modern and had great (polite and understatedly nice) customer service. My room was cozy, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Got two nights of good sleep on the bed, and the bathroom was clean and had all the comforts I needed.

Ausgezeichnete Aufenthalt im Hotel. Zwei Viertel vom Busbahnhof, auch nur wenige Viertel vom Zentrum entfernt zu gehen oder etwas zu trinken. Super sauberes Zimmer und der sehr freundliche und freundliche Empfangsmann.

This is a lovely, well-located hotel with friendly, diligent staff. Our ”superior” (i.e. standard) room was relatively large and very comfortable with perhaps the most luxurious bedding we encountered during our three week sojourn by car across northern Spain. The site offers easy and very enjoyable walking routes to the city centre and old town and it is surrounded by a good range of restaurants and bars. A special shout-out to our multilingual friend Alberto at reception who made us feel especially welcome and who gave us several good recommendations to enhance our stay. Our only misgiving about the place was in regard to the hotel restaurant, La Palmero del Indiano. The space is stylish and welcoming and the servers we had during two dinners, a lunch, and a room service delivery were clearly doing their very gracious best. However, our unfortunate impression was that the restaurant was understaffed and service suffered as a result. Yes, we did take account of the fact that meals tend to unfold at a more leisurely pace than we are used to in Canada. But, more than once, the dishes we received were not what we had ordered or, worse, the requested items never appeared at all. Skip this part if TL;DR is already a factor. It is clearly on us for not being able to speak Spanish, but another dimension of the problem seemed to occur once the servers left the table with our orders in English then tried to match them to the corresponding dishes on the Spanish menu before sending their ticket to the kitchen. This seemed to be a problem every/every time we placed an order, even when we tried to do the matching ourselves by simultaneously consulting both the English and Spanish menus. So, managers, here is an obvious suggestion: Either (a) assign a number to menu items on both English and Spanish menus to ease the job of your servers and minimize confusion, or (b) include a subscript of their Spanish names on the English menu. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and we look forward to returning there, and to the great city of Oviedo, in the next year.

A fabulous building left from the hand of God by the town hall. You will enjoy excellent rooms, views (if there is no fog) good - depending on the room-. I understand that the location is not central, but Oviedo is not a big city, and in a short time you are anywhere, on foot. What is a pity is that the building has not been turned into a tourist destination (France or Italy would put it in the guides), leaving it to wither in isolation. We already know that Calatrava does not finish a work without anger, and the promise that the cover would move was not fulfilled. But the building is spectacular. The downside, without a restaurant in a hotel of such category, forces you to make plans away from it. People, room, cleanliness. Good Elevators should improve, bootlenecks occur. Place, not centered, but you can walk to the downtown in 10'
