Das Essen war ganz außergewöhnlich und der Service von Gabby und ihr Team war Top-Class, mit Frühstück besonders sehr akzeptabel genug Platz, um Scrabble zu spielen, die durch die Feuer in den Loungen erwärmt, umfangreicher Parkplatz und großer Standort zum Autoreisen. Ja, wir verlängerten unseren Aufenthalt mit einer Nacht, da wir den Aufenthalt so sehr genossen. Im März wieder für den Geburtstag der Frau reserviert und warten wirklich auf einen Rückkehrbesuch.

Play and stay visit . We stayed in a pirate suite and I must say it was a really nice room , clean and spacious , quiet and a great little club house (bar) . We payed for the birthday package and sweet bouquet. There where birthday banners,balloons and a gullivers bear in the room along with the sweetie bouquet all went down well and then shortly after checking in gully and pirate came to see us with a birthday cake we had a dance and took some photos. The entertainment in thr evening was good . Tom did a great job at entertaining the kids making sure no one was left out and everyone got Involved. Drinks where reasonably priced and can't comment on food as we ate out . Sausages and bacon at breakfast didn't look great so we decided to drive down the road, park doesn't open till 10:30 on a Sunday and you have to check out at 10 anyway so had some time to waste. Great birthday stay value for money and both Tom and Hannah where wonderful making sure we had a great stay and my daughter enjoyed her birthday. Yes I would return . To note: in the evening marshmallow toasting is part of the entertainment but they fail to mention that its £4 for a bag of marshmallows I'd bring your own x 😉

Nachdem wir nicht für eine Weile Hostelling waren, entschieden wir es zu versuchen, eine Mischung aus Selbstzupflegung und Hauptgerichte. Wir waren froh. Wir hatten ein en-suite privates Zimmer mit einem Doppelbett. Being school holidays we enjoyed watching the families with such well behaved children who were also enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, while the provision in this large hostel of quiet lounges provided the contrast to the members’ kitchen which was well Ausgestattet und gut genutzt. Wir haben unsere Hauptgerichte im Kaffee von einem kurzen Menü gekauft, aber wir konnten einen Kaffee machen, wann immer wir wollten. Die ganze Woche war sehr angenehm.

The hotel is ideally situated outside hustle and bustle of Matlock Spa. The food was absolutely delicious - well done chef and kitchen crew. The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff was excellent - we were made very comfortable and welcome. The massage my husband and I had was of very high quality and much needed. The spa area is very small and cramped - I wonder if there are any plans to extend ? The outdoor naturally heated pool a delight - our first experience of this which we thoroughly appreciated. Again everyone around the pool were friendly and encouraging. But oh dear …. The hotel buildings themselves need millions investing in them to bring them up to scratch as a spa venue … and I suppose the money just isn’t there, which is such a shame - as in its prime I bet it was a real destination venue. So go - enjoy it for what it is. Laugh at mismatched head boards, bolt on wardrobes, out of date signage in bathrooms, skew pictures and mirrors, radiators hanging off walls, rotten wood, peeling paint. If someone has spare millions - please invest in this place 😉
