Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but I felt put in an uncomfortable situation. Due to a miscommunication with my booking, I needed to change rooms but this was not communicated well so that my belongings were moved whilst I was out without my permission or consent. The rooms were clean and comfortable however the showers were awful, either scalding hot or freezing cold with no power. The food was also disappointing. It is also probably worth knowing that you can only pay for food and drinks with cash.

I have been in this lodge before and after a safari. It was very surprising because everyone was very kind and the hotel is impressively clean. The reception and breakfast staff is very useful, professional and amazing. I must recognize specially Scola and Lucia because they helped us in everything we needed from great activities suggestion to specific support in the hotel. I was in Gateway for 3 nights and it was really good. They were atented and taking care of our necesitis. The room was clean, with a private bathroom with a hot shower. We had views at Meru mountain! Then the brekfast was really good, with tipical food of tanzania. The woman at the reception was the best, always funny and attented. So I think it's a good place, and they have a good price-quality relation. So also they are near the center of the city. You can go walking everywhere.

Beautiful service!!! Beautiful hotel!!! A wonderful place to spend with the family..had the best time,hands down the best place to be whilst in Arusha,Tanzania👏🏽Will definitely find my way back❤️..y’all should visit too
