Palms Hotel Trinidad

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days and we had a wonderful time. Although some things are a bit dated, you can see they are working on improvements. The grounds were clean, the staff were super friendly and respectful and the back area was a complete hit for our guest who visited. We looked forward to hanging out with our super friendly bartender, CJ in the evening, and the cook took great care of us. The pool and hot tub was already clean and inviting, and they will be opening a spa at the end of January! This is my new place to stay. They’re also in walking distance of the new mall. Can’t wait to go back!

Pros: Room was clean, comfortable and cosy, the new additions of the backyard pool, restaurant and bar was lovely as it enhanced the ambiance and it felt good knowing that we didn't have to leave the compound to have a meal or a few cocktails. The cocktails were great and reasonably priced. Cons: The breakfast was disappointing and underwhelming, on Saturday morning after the waitress took our orders for omlettes etc, after waiting so long to be told there were no more eggs, and on top of that only white bread was available, we were already so hungry we ate what was available....which was sausage and white bread...I paid additional for filled waffles, and they too missed the mark, the Sunday morning we decided to get to breakfast earlier, then to be told it wasn't ready they're running late, but it's buffet style, it was a little better than the day the before, though everything wasn't ready we just settled for fried bake and saltfish. The waitress made us what tasted like a strawberry smoothie to make up for the previous morning, it was a good gesture... But still.... On Monday again we got up early, again to be told only certain options were available for breakfast, we were very disappointed and just settled for what they had available....there is room for improvement and I hope if or when we return another time the breakfast variety and availability would be better. Location, comfort and convenience.. 10/10 would definitely recommend .... Breakfast 3/10...don't get your hopes up.

My fiancé and I was totally disappointed with our experience there. A friend recommended and I thought I would give it a try. It was a good location because it was close to where I lived and the airport. There was no internet service in the room and that may have been because the room was too far away from the lobby area. We took the room that included a mini fridge, there was no glasses nor ice available, mind you the room itself was not too bad. Breakfast for three days was also included in our cost, it consisted of scramble eggs, sausages, white, half-toasted bread with butter and a banana, after paying international rates, this was unacceptable. As a result of this, we opted to purchase our breakfast for that period. Finally, the night before we left, a roach came from the adjoining room and went through the crack in the door in our room. International price should equal international service.
