Hotel Apartamento Algar

Another comfortable stay at the excellently located Algar. We are repeat customers and the service from Janet, Claudia and Miguel is as good as ever. Professional and friendly and the apartments are very well maintained and serviced by friendly staff. We can’t wait to be back again.

Arrived late at night to a friendly helpful receptionist. The room/studio apartment was a good size with a small kitchenette which was more than enough for our week's break. We were located to the side of the building so no sea view (would not hesitate to stay here again but would pay extra for a sea front room) and only a small balcony but this didnt spoil the visit at all. The rooftop pool was not functioning but the roof terrace had amazing views and was great for lying in the sun without getting sand in your shoes ! Could stay up there all day! The beach was literally a stones throw away across the road and plenty of restaurants and bars along the promenade. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and really cannot fault this hotel at all.

Another lovely stay in the Algar at the end of May beg of June for 9 days. Could only get a side room when booking but on arrival Janet was able to book us into a refurbished sea view room ( bit of an extra cost ) but we were delighted. Although check in time is not until the afternoon we arrived about 11 and our room was ready. Staff are great thank you Janet, Claudia and Miguel. Also a mention for Tamara our cleaner always a smile and remembered us from previous visits. Would highly recommend and hope to return in a few months time.

Our third visit .Hotel is spotless throughout. The apartment has everything you need for a home from home stay ,the only thing missing is a washing machine or on site laundry. Perfect location bars restaurant s a stones throw away

Little 5 day break away with the girls. We went just out of season but the people in the hotel were fantastic & Very helpful. Janet & the night porter ( sorry can’t recall his name ) on receptionist were lovely. The reception was lovely big comfy sofas & tables also has WiFi. You have rest rooms & a library in reception area also. I will post pics as the ones I saw on on the beach web page must be old dated ones. I can not comment on the gym as I didn’t use it - but the roof terrace was out of this world - pool was closed but we didn’t mind as we just had to walk a few steps out the front of the hotel to the ocean. The hotel has 2 lifts & the security measures they take are best we have ever had. We had a room on the 6th floor our other room was on 2nd floor & that suited the girls as they do not like heights lol. Both rooms had the best view I have ever has on a holiday in my life. I love the sea & the noise of the waves. On entering your room you enter the kitchen that is well equipped toaster kettle coffee maker full cooker & oven ( never had a proper cooker before only usually 2 rings ) you also get dish towel & cloths & hand soap. You also have a dining table 4 chairs- then right next to that you have living area with a L shape sofa that turns into a bed if needed with cushions & throws - very cosy - also a Unit with TV with lots of Chanel’s. Open the door in the living room takes you into a big hall way with full length mirrors & large wardrobe to the left with with drawers & plenty of hangers - safe - you also have an iron board & iron inside the wardrobe. To the left you have the bathroom with bath & shower wc & sink & large mirror. Shower could have been better but that’s my only complaint. Through the next door you are you your large bedroom that has a large mirror unit with 8 drawers 2 single beds with 2 bedside cabinets with lamps & 2 chairs. The full apartment was clean & I would definitely stay here again & would recommend this hotel to everyone. The balcony had a table & 4 chairs & a large umbrella as the sun beats right on to it. Myself, and my teenage son visited the Apartments Algor in August this year. The location is fantastic, directly opposite the beautiful beach. Having visited Armaceo De Pera many times, we knew exactly where we wanted to be. The room was cleaned every day, and the amenities, including the pool area were kept immaculate. The biggest attraction however are the staff. Very friendly and helpful. On the last day, our transfer didn't arrive to take us to the airport and the lady on reception couldn't have been more helpful - she sourced alternative transport and we were on our way in no time. There is also a jolly gentleman who manned the desk, mainly of an evening, who was also very lovely, chatty and friendly. We will definitely return - well done to the whole Team.

Spent 6 nights here ;and am already looking to book again for next year .All the staff are very friendly & helpful.The rooftop pool was open & though very small is perfect for a dip to cool off ,in saying that the beach is literally across the road so if you fancy a good swim hop in to the ocean ..The rooms are lovely and still quite traditional & have everything you need for your stay ,if not there’s plenty of shops including a supermarket a couple of doors away.The rooms are clean & the housekeepers attended everyday which was amazing .We also had a terrace style balcony with table chairs & an umbrella.we didn’t have a sew view apartment but could still see the sea to the right of us and ours (407) was an absolute sun trap & you also have a folding clothes dryer for your wet stuff so no chucking towels over the balcony walls ! Can’t fault this place ..clean & quiet ..ticks all the boxes ..restaurants bars shops and a stunning beach ..What I would say is ,because the pool is very small I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for large families if a pool holiday is what you’re after ..perfect for tiny tots and couples & those that love the beach

Very well equipped large apartment with balcony , we had an apartment that faced the side lane but we could still see and hear the sea, friend staff too, Central location very close to supermarket and beach, taxi ranch and bus stop close by, looking forward to returning soon

Get the disappointment out of the way about this hotel. It was advertised as having a pool, this is why we booked this hotel. The Pool on the roof is empty so unable to use, but you can still sit up there as they still have sun beds , just gets a bit hot. We not really beach people, so we love to lay around the pool and sunbathe and when it gets hit we have a little swim. We did try for a several days to go onto the roof as my knees aren’t what they used to be and going up and down the stairs to the beach became painful. When we did try, there were decorators there painting the pool area. Then there were a lot of workmen, doing jobs that needed doing. Safety glass missing, scrubbing the blue pool cover as it was a bit dirty! , tiling the pool, etc. Very noisy. Unfortunately we were forced to go onto the beach and pay for sun beds. Great expense that we weren’t expecting. The sun beds for 2 people are €17.50 all day or €13.50 from 2pm. We spent over €150 which is around £130 for sun beds in the time we were there. You can lay on the beach for free as long as you bring towels/ throws, etc to lay on. Also best to take a beach umbrella as it gets very hot. Reception is advertised as 24 hours, it’s not. It’s 8am to midnight. The gym was also not open. The room has Kitchen diner, a corner shaped settee, table and chairs, TV, microwave, a full fridge and a cooker. Not much cupboard space to store food if you’re self catering. Also the few cupboards that there were, had pans, sieve, large plastic bowl and frying pans, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. Cooking area very small, no preparation area for food, or kitchen worktops. In a small passage way, there is a wardrobe and the safe. ( you have to pay for the safe) There are vey limited plug sockets. There are two in the bedroom, that we were unable to put a plug adapter in as there is wood on the wall and the hole they have made is too small to actually put a plug in. There’s a plug socket next to the floor in a small passage way which you have to plug the kettle into, as the cord on the kettle is too short to plug in the other sockets. (Microwave and lamp plug socket) There’s three plug sockets in the living area, one has the TV plugged in behind a TV unit which you can’t really get to (this TV unit has your crockery,cutlery and cooking utensils in it. Very odd). The second plug socket has a microwave plugged in, which you can use for the toaster. The third plug socket has a lamp plugged in. This is the only one we could really use to charge phones, iPads etc. WI-FI only available in the reception area. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very average. Staff not really on the ball. We ordered bread and butter while we waited for food. They brought this but also Olives that we did not order. Then charged us for them. Our food came with two sides that we ordered.
