In fairness I stayed at the Residence Inn in Greenbay, WI two weeks before. That was a hard act to follow and the one in Appleton one failed.. The furniture was distressed and the carpet worn. The kitchen facilities consisted of two over used aluminum pans, 2 spoons, a coffee pot that was missing pieces and a very nice refrigerator. Tucked in a drawer was a toaster.. What was missing things was like sponges but since the dishwasher almost worked I guess we can over look that. The liner of my shower curtain was so streaked with black goo that I was reluctant to use it. To their credit when the maids came on day 3, they were equally horrified and replaced it. I see some folks mentioned the pool and I walked by it several times. The first time I thought it was the hot tub based on its size so that tells you a lot. There is a nice grill outside, next to a firepit that seemed inviting. Breakfast was ok but their coffee turned me back into a tea drinker. There is a laundry room...two washing machines (one was broken) and two dryers, and one of those was in similar disrepair. I went to the laundromat. Their location is very convenient to a lot of things and the staff at the hotel could not be nicer. Someone needs to give this tired place a overhaul or drop the prices by a lot. The value for the money isn't there (and since I had to be there for over a week I had a huge bill and a hefty charge for my four footed companions). Speaking of four footed companions, what is it with hotels that offer up places to toss your doggie bags but never ever empty the containers? They are not alone in this by the way; it seems to be universal so my question is to the world rather than residence inn.
