The Dens at Bear Rock is a stones throw from downtown Custer and numerous Black Hills activities. With Den #2 as your home base you have access to all the Southern Hills has to offer - Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & Jewel Cave all within a 20 mile radius. Explore Needles Highway & Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park less than 10 mins away. Experience nightlife of an old west town, numerous dining options, coffee shops and local boutiques. UTV trails and golf are also all within minutes of the Dens.Studio loft with fully stocked kitchen, full bath and living area with full dining table with seating for two. A luxurious memory foam king bed is provided to ensure you are well rested during your stay. Enjoy a 47” tv with Roku remote from either the bed or the couch to catch up on your favorite shows. The bathroom has a shower tub with plenty of clean towels provided and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. The deck includes a bistro set that is nestled amongst gorgeous rock formations and you have a front row seat to watch the sun rise on the iconic Bear Rock each day, while enjoying your morning coffee.Studio loft accessible by stairs. Guests have access to the entire loft apart from two locked storage closets. The downstairs unit (The Dens at Bear Rock #1) is rented separately and has its own private entrance. As such we DO recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle during the winter months. Our driveway will typically be plowed WITHIN 24 hours of receiving 6 inches of snow, but WILL NOT be plowed after every snowfall. The cozy Marjorie Suite is located on the upper level of Mr. McDonald's private residence. It is located above his kitchen and has its own private entrance, accessed via stairs, located on the North side of the building. Parking is available nearby on the West side of the building.The Marjorie Suite is cooled by a portable air conditioner. Heat is supplied by a space heater. The suite includes a 32" Roku SmartTV connected to our Starlink satellite internet. The Marjorie Suite is an open floor plan which sleeps up to 3 people. It has a king size bed and a twin bed. Accommodations include an in-suite bath, single sink, and a walk in shower with glass doors. The kitchenette includes a microwave, toaster, drip coffeemaker, dorm fridge, and an induction hot plate. Basic cooking and eating utensils are provided, including dishes and glasses. We stock basic spices, and a limited amount of coffee and filters. We also provide all bed, bath, and kitchen linens. Please note: This is our only kitchenette that does not include a sink. There is a sink in the bathroom. We stock two dishpans and dish soap. There is a small table and two chairs for dining inside, located within the main suite area. We have another table and chairs, plus benches, on the private deck for outdoor dining and lounging. There is a three day minimum to reserve the Marjorie Suite. Minimum age requirement on the Marjorie Suite is age 5.We do not have guest laundry facilities. There are laundromats in Keystone and Hill City. Garbage cans are located on the West facing wall of the building, where the parking area is. Unfortunately, due to many considerations, we do not allow pets / animals on the property. No exceptions. If a guest arrives for their reservation with an animal they will NOT be given a rental key NOR issued a refund. Thank you for understanding.Driving and Parking Info: The Ranch is located directly off of a well maintained and paved county road.  Our driveways are hard packed dirt and gravel.  We have limited parking near each of the cabins and suites. We have an additional parking area at the rear of the main lodge.  We have a large, well kept meadow beyond that for overflow parking of motorcycle trailers, side by sides, etc.  We ask that you please do not block the main driveways or the two car garage at the front of the property.  Check in is at 4:00pm MST or later. Check out is by 11:00am MST. Consider this studio your home away from home while you visit Custer. With 1 queen bed, a washing and dryer, WiFi, AC, and smart TV, guests will have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. The bathroom features a shower and hair dryer. The space was originally created as a workshop so it does have a roll-up door in addition to the normal entry door. The sleeping area is screened from the living area for privacy. The kitchen area features pots, pans, dishes, utensils, full size electric stove with oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Coffee, sugar and creamer are supplied. Outdoor seating including gas grill and firepit. Large open parking area. 4 miles to Historic Downtown Custer, 6 miles to the West entrance of Custer State Park, 9 miles to Sylvan Lake, 11 miles to Crazy Horse, 12 miles to Wind Cave Park, 12 miles to Jewel Cave, 15 miles to Hill City and the 1880 Train and Depot, 34 miles to Mt. Rushmore and 1 hour to Rapid City. Fishing and hiking. Custer offers many dining opportunities. During inclement weather indoor bike parking is allowed by moving the dining table and opening the garage door for access.
