Stepping into Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo was like taking a journey back to the early days of the Spanish colonial city in Guatemala. The doors, ceilings, courtyard, floors, and decor capture that time to make staying at the hotel like living in a museum. The hotel is lovingly restored and maintained. My favorite room was the restaurant with a spectacular intricate carved wood ceiling painted green and other colors. There's a wonderful old fountain on one wall. In the mornings and evenings, a band plays Spanish music. At night, dancers in costumes perform as well. The room, performers and excellent food and drinks make a visit to the restaurant a don't miss event. When we came back to Antigua a second time before our flight out, we decided to go back to the restaurant for dinner again because we loved it so much. We especially enjoyed the beef tenderloin and sangria. The courtyard is lush and green, with a series of colorful paintings set on easels capturing various sites, and flora and fauna of Guatemala. Flowering plants and the chirping of birds add to the ambiance making for a romantic and charming setting. The rooms line the courtyard with eclectic sitting areas with furniture consistent with the colonial era. There are large pottery urns sprinkled throughout providing water for drinking. The contrast between the hectic street right outside of the hotel, smack in the middle of all of the action, and the serene open hallways and courtyard is striking. We were a bit disappointed our room was very small with just a standard double bed. My husband is 6 foot 6 and it was snug. The only window was a hinged opening in the heavy dark wood antique door out to the courtyard. There was no safe in the room which concerned us because we didn't want to carry all of our cash with us. We ended up hiding money in the room. I suspect we didn't need to work so hard to hide it because when we left money out to tip the people who made up our room, they didn't take it. This happened in other hotels in Guatemala as well. There's security at the front door and the staff members were all warm, friendly, eager to assist, and competent. We didn't expect air-conditioning, and there wasn't any. During the day, the room did get a bit warm and stuffy, but by evening, it cooled off enough to be comfortable. Despite the hotel's age, it was spotless and well-maintained. We ended up staying in three different hotels in Antigua during our trip. This one was my favorite, despite the small room, because the attention to every detail was so thorough. It is an unforgettable place and among the highlights of our trip.

Das Hostel ist sehr groß, die Zimmer sind etwas kleiner, sie sind alle unabhängig, es gibt auch ein separates Badezimmer vor der Tür, man kann duschen, trocken und nass trennen, sehr sauber, das heiße Wasser ist wirklich toll! Der Rasen ist riesig und es hängt ein richtiges Bett, man kann sich hinlegen und fotografieren und Kissen hinlegen! Hahaha, außerhalb der Veranda sind alle diese Art von Hängematten. Die Küche ist auch sehr gut, nur Öl und Salz kaufen, drei Kühlschränke und ein Schwimmbad, einen mit Schulbus gebauten Rastplatz, umgeben von Stühlen und Sofas, es gibt eine Getränkehalle, es gibt Billard zum Spielen und eine Ruhe Die Lounge ist sehr groß, und es gibt zwei kleine Holzhäuser, in denen man in Ruhe seine eigenen Sachen machen kann. Es gibt tatsächlich ein Kino! ! ! Es ist ein Projektor! ! Sie können Youtube anschauen und nach Sansei III Kissenbüchern suchen. Ändere die Sprache von Apple TV und erinnere dich. Es gibt auch ein großes neues Konzeptrestaurant mit einer besonders avantgardistischen Dekoration, wie die eines einheimischen Einkaufszentrums. Es ist etwas teuer, 50-70 RMB pro Person. Es gibt auch kleine Lichter, einen Stecker und 2 USB-Buchsen! Wie auch immer, es ist großartig! Der Hof ist riesig! Es gibt mehrere hoch aufragende Bäume, die Avocadobäume sind, die viele Früchte tragen, und ich bin zufällig auf einen gefallen. Das Personal spricht gut Englisch, reinigt akribisch und die Toiletten werden desinfiziert. Als ich es am nächsten Tag benutzte, roch es nach Desinfektionsmittel.

Vorteile: Der Garten ist gut, das Zimmer ist groß, die Landschaft ist unbequem, die Atmosphäre ist voller Luft, die Nacht ist warm. Benachteiligung: Der Service ist nicht professionell genug, das Frühstück ist sehr einfach, die Lage ist abgelegen, es fehlt an einem gewissen Gefühl von Schönheit für diese 2,000 größeren Preise, billiger als der Normale Insgesamt: Die Zimmerausstattung und der Service sind schlecht, leider ist dies eine schöne Landschaft.
