It pains me to see how THE CHINAR has abused it's reputation to take advantage of unsuspecting guests. We paid a high price for a rickety property running on it's last gas. It started with the view, which in Kashmir is the most abundantly available. But, in our case the entire view from Chinar is a series of construction sites. Moving on, the kitchen didn't even have basic supplies; our friend's toddlers didn't get the milk, they had beg for it. My wife didn't get the ice-cream. The breakfast wasn't a buffet, and the service was painfully slow, it took us 45 minutes to get normal food on our table, nothing fancy. On the first day itself, I requested the Manager to speak, he plainly refused. While at the same time he was speaking with their staff over phone. Throughout, we just kept on getting more and more disappointments. While right at the start, we had asked for the refund of the advance. Anticipating this as we have a long stay here. They refused. We had no choice. The money was gone. They are running a cheating racket here, in cahoots. Most of the staff acts clueless, sheepish. I am certain The Chinar will be over, if not soon then by the next season. They are trying to fleece as much money as possible before they shut it down. Don't come here. Don't get cheated on. High Rating and Reviews are of a place from past. The current reality is cheating front desk, money fleecing manager, zero hospitality, mismanaged kitchen, no promised view.
