Asile Flottant

The extraordinary hotel is a good idea and the pictures that the company is advertising with are promising far more than you get for your money. The ship what we booked was broke they said to us when we arrived so we had to take another one which was more nice in their opinion. But as we arrived in the evening and they didn’t inform us before we had no chance to react. The boat we got was lovely prepared and orderly but not really clean. The pillows smelled as if they were not washed a long time ago. In addition we were freezing at night in spite of a heating which is too small to heat the big iron room. We would never book here again. Very sad because it could have been nice if the owners were giving a little more effort.

What an amazing place! We had great weather and so staying at Asile Flottant was amazing- get up in the morning and jump into the water- the same after a busy day of sightseeing! You are living on a boat, which is super cool- the rooms are pretty basic, but you have comfy beds so what more could you want? There are plenty of cafes and supermarkets locally to get breakfast and snacks. The location is really tranquil so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city, but then then also get some R&R.

We stayed on Annelise. It was a lovely boat, beautiful surroundings with a lovely bedroom area with a big double bed. The kitchen was basically a sink, kettle and fridge so not really suitable if you want to stay in and cook a nice lunch or dinner, but perfect for a weekend break to base yourself while going into the city. There is a lovely vegetarian restaurant a stones throw away on the water, and a few other nice cafes etc. The area was private and quiet. A few other boats with families and small group. The city centre is about 15 mins away. ( 10 minute walk to metro and one stop)

The entire boat was filled with noxious fumes. The host stated they had just filled the generators with diesel and this was to be expected given it was a working boat. The boat was not safe to occupy and we had to find other accommodations at the last minute and the host has kept the deposit. The boat has the potential to be a unique stay but is not maintained safely.

Una pessima esperienza. La nostra camera sulla barca era l’unica situata in cambusa, odore di antico, muffa e umidità. Le luci non funzionavano e gli obló non si chiudevano ( c’è stata pioggia e un letto si è quasi del tutto bagnato). La pulizia a dir poco pessima, probabilmente non hanno pulito dopo il check out del precedente ospite: macchie di entità dubbia sulle lenzuala e sulle salviette, polvere ovunque, ragni insetti e tante ragnatele, capelli neri sul pavimento e sui letti. La doccia aveva il sifone rotto. La porta della barca difficile da aprire e chiudere e per niente sicura. Abbiamo fatto notare le problematiche alla proprietaria che ha “rimediato” mettendo un lenzuolo “pulito” e lasciandoci una bottiglia di prosecco. Mai più. Spiace perché l’idea è carina ma rimane solo un’idea purtroppo.

Het leek zo’n leuk idee, lekker alternatief maar haast niet in slaap kunnen komen van de olie / diesel stank is niet prettig. Vooral niet als je met hoofdpijn ervan wakker wordt, echt vreselijk. Prikkende ogen. Al je kleren stinken er naar, ook nog bij thuis komst. We sliepen boven in de kapiteinshut, zonder gordijnen. Normaal doorslapen is er niet bij. Bedden beneden veel te klein. Ongeveer 1,70 m lang. We tilden beneden een houten luik op, waar een laag stinkend dood water stond. Wat we niet wisten dat er op het bijbehorend aangrenzend terrein de Ceuvel een feest was dat tot na 4.00 uur ‘s ochtends doorging. Dus van rust was er geen sprake. Ook klopte de foto’s niet van internet en de werkelijkheid. Er is wel een soort keuken maar er mag niet gekookt worden. Wat ons opviel dat de blauwe houten hotelboot die voor onze boot ligt, helemaal verrot is. Daar wil je nog niet dood op gevonden worden. Echt geen aanrader, voor dit geld is er veel beter te krijgen. Bah………. ‘s avonds geen verlichting om naar de boten te lopen of railing wat echt gevaarlijke situaties met zich mee brengt. Ongelijke drijvende delen die op en neer gaan. We hebben al vaker op een hotelboot geslapen maar niet met deze ervaringen. Heel jammer dit.
