"Zwei Dinge machen das Jetwing Surf wirklich aus: das außergewöhnlich engagierte, freundliche und zuvorkommende Personal, das eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre schafft, sowie die Lage direkt am Indischen Ozean mit eigenem Privatstrand und Meerblick – alles genau so wie beschrieben. Beim Gesamteindruck fehlt allerdings das Niveau, das man bei einem als 5-Sterne-Resort positionierten Haus erwarten würde. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt aus meiner Sicht nicht – in Substanz und Ausstattung fühlt sich das Haus eher wie ein 3-Sterne-Hotel an. Konkret: – Bungalows: In die Jahre gekommen. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht, aber sichtbare Spaltmaße, Insekten im Raum und einiges an Patina gehören zum Bild. – Surfausrüstung: Von 6 Leihboards waren 4 defekt. Eine sinnvolle Nutzung vor Ort war damit nicht möglich, wir haben extern gemietet – ungewöhnlich für ein Hotel, das „Surf“ im Namen trägt. – Pool: An mehreren Stellen baustellig, während unseres Aufenthalts wurde aktiv gearbeitet, inklusive deutlich wahrnehmbarer Lärmkulisse. Die Poolbar war während unseres Aufenthalts nicht in Betrieb, Service am Pool gab es nur auf Nachfrage – nicht das, was man von einem Resort dieser Kategorie erwartet. Positiv zu nennen ist außerdem das Essen: gute Qualität bei solidem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Fazit: Wegen Lage und Service eine Empfehlung – wer aber das Niveau eines 5-Sterne-Resorts erwartet, wird enttäuscht. Mit einer 3-Sterne-Erwartung passt das Haus."

"Myself and my partner had the best stay at De Pearla resort. Farah the host was the best. He cooked us the most amazing meals, helped us with anything we needed assistance with and made our trip so special. He even showed us how to cook biriyani! My girlfriend became ill with a fever on one of the days and Farah went above and beyond to make sure that we were all ok and looked after. It really felt like we became part of the family. His son was also very helpful and kind to us. De Perla is a tranquil slice of Paradise that felt like a home away from home. It was always so amazing to come back to after a long day surfing and the craziness of Arugam Bay. We hope that we come back here again one day. Thank you Farah. We hope we meet again!"

"Wir hatten super schöne Tage hier. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön. Es ist außerhalb des Trubels und für ruhesuchende. Mit dem Tuktuk ist man aber schnell überall. Einem Stern Abzug gibt es, da das Preis Leistung Verhältnis nicht passt. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und das merkt man sehr. Insgesamt sehr schön, aber man müsste mal ein paar tausend Euro in die Hand nehmen und alles wieder auf Vordermann bringen. Der Service war super. Die Angestellten immer mega nett und sehr hilfsbereit."

"Wir hatten eine schreckliche Erfahrung in diesem Hotel. Der Preis ist extrem hoch für sehr schlechten Service. Das Hotel ist sehr schmutzig, mit viel Müll überall auf dem Grundstück (leere Flaschen und Bierdosen, Papiere, schmutzige Geschirrtücher usw.), die Poolbar ist immer geschlossen und extrem schmutzig. Wir haben für ein Zimmer mit Meerblick bezahlt, aber kein Zimmer hat tatsächlich Meerblick. Es gibt keine Intimität in Ihrem privaten Swimmingpool: Das Personal geht vorbei und schaut Sie an. Viele Dinge im Zimmer waren kaputt (Badewanne, Haartrockner, Fernseher, Klimaanlage sehr laut). Das Essen ist schrecklich, alles gefroren und von sehr schlechter Qualität, obwohl es ein 5-Sterne-Hotel sein soll. Auf der über 20 Cocktails umfassenden Karte war nur 1 Cocktail verfügbar. Wir bekamen Cola aus einer 2-Liter-Flasche, nicht aus einer persönlichen kleinen Flasche oder Dose - das ist sehr unhygienisch und sollte nicht passieren, nicht in einem 5-Sterne-Hotel, aber auch nicht in einem Hotel mit niedrigem Standard. Das Personal spricht kaum Englisch. Das Hotel ist leer, die Atmosphäre ist sehr seltsam, es gab mehr als 10 Mitarbeiter, die für nur 2 Familien in einem riesigen Hotel arbeiteten. Ich könnte noch weitermachen, da wir die schlimmste Erfahrung aller Zeiten gemacht haben, aber als Fazit: Gehen Sie auf keinen Fall dorthin! Wir hätten eigentlich 3 Nächte bleiben sollen, entschieden uns aber, das Hotel nach einer Nacht zu verlassen."

"I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide – from budget hostels to 5-star resorts – and I have never experienced anything this bad. What happened at Paper Moon Kudils is not just “poor service” – it’s a case study in how to destroy guest trust. We booked two bungalows for my family: two small children, an elderly relative, and myself. From the moment we opened the door, it was obvious: We were not in a hotel. We were in a health hazard. This is what we walked into: Mouse droppings across the floor, furniture, and even close to the beds where my children would sleep Dirty, stained bedding – clearly used and never replaced Filthy, wet floor mats with a smell that turned my stomach No mosquito nets, despite being clearly promised in the booking No toiletries whatsoever – not even soap to wash our hands A rooftop terrace that was closed, crumbling, and unsafe to enter Everywhere you looked, it felt abandoned for months, left to decay while still taking money from guests under false advertising. The beautiful online photos? Pure fiction. What you see there does not exist here. Because of our children, we couldn’t leave instantly – but we checked out after just one night. Staying longer would have been irresponsible. We reported everything to Agoda, who repeatedly tried to contact the property. They never replied. No apology. No explanation. No accountability. Weeks later, the only “solution” was a 15% refund for one bungalow – a number so ridiculous it almost felt like mockery. As a German medical specialist and frequent global traveller, I understand both health standards and honesty in service. This property fails at both. It is not just below standard – it is dangerous and deliberately misrepresented. We have photo and video evidence of every detail. Believe me: The pictures speak for themselves – and they tell a story of neglect, deception, and contempt for paying guests. If you value your health, your safety, and your money: Avoid Paper Moon Kudils at all costs. Frankly, this place should be removed from all booking platforms and inspected by health authorities."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay at 20 House Arugam I stayed at 20 House Arugam for 12 days during my business trip to Arugam Bay. As a tour operator, guide, and travel agent, I travel frequently and have stayed in many different places, but this was truly a wonderful experience. The guest house is in a lovely and peaceful setting, and the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The owner is a very kind and genuine person who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I really appreciated the warm hospitality and personal attention. It felt more like staying with good friends than staying at a guest house. I highly recommend 20 House Arugam to anyone visiting Arugam Bay, whether for business or leisure. I would definitely be happy to stay here again on my next visit. Thank you to the whole team at 20 House Arugam for making my 12-day stay so enjoyable! ❤️🌴"

"Das Blue Waters besticht durch seine Lage direkt am Meer. Es ist die perfekte Unterkunft inmitten der Natur, außerhalb des Trubels vom Surfer Hotspot Arugam Bay. Wir wurden vom staff des Blue Waters sehr gut umsorgt. Das kleine Team hält die Anlage sauber und geht auf individuelle Wünsche ein. Das Essen ist hervorragend! Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen war sehr lecker und günstig. Es ist der perfekte Orr um nah an der Natur zu sein!"

"Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception, and we had to call the hotel to begin the check-in process. A few staff members arrived later, but the initial lack of assistance left a poor first impression. The Wi-Fi was extremely poor and barely connected throughout our stay. The restaurant was completely closed, so we had to go outside the property whenever we wanted food. There were also no clear instructions about the hotel's policies or amenities. Because of this, we were unexpectedly charged for water bottles we requested to our room, even though the hotel provides 1 liter of complimentary water per room per day. Better communication would have avoided this confusion. The biggest disappointment was the swimming pool. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant smell, with visible algae and mosquitoes around it. After getting into the pool, I developed a skin rash, which was very concerning. The property itself has a lot of potential and looks beautiful, but it is clearly not being maintained well. With better maintenance, clearer communication, and improved guest services, it could offer a much better experience."

"I stayed at Wild Edge Panama Kumana Safari Lodge for four nights in July 2026 and had a wonderful time. It’s set in a quiet rural area in Panama within a 40 minute drive to the entrance to Kumana National Park. The rooms are very clean with comfortable double bed and mosquito netting, aircon and fan and plenty of storage and plug sockets. There is a terrace to each bedroom with outdoor seating. The en suite bathroom had an excellent shower and all the modern amenities and plumbing and toiletries. There is a stylish main entrance/reception and communal dining area and the lodge is surrounded by small ponds/water features. The beach is a short walk over the sand dunes and is clean and quiet. The local bird life is excellent. There is fast wi-fi throughout the property. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Samitha and his wife own the lodge and live adjacent and were kind and generous hosts. Samitha is an expert wildlife photographer/videographer and I had the privilege of several all day safaris in Kumana National Park with him. He is extremely knowledgable and has a real passion for the flora and fauna. I would not hesitate to recommend this lodge and hope to return again."

Abgelegen, sehr ruhig, die ganze Anlage traumhaft schön, ein wunderbarer Swimming Pool, die beiden Gebäude Reception und Restaurant wunderschön in Schneckenform mit Strohdächern, wie übrigens auch alle Bungalows im Stil von afrikanischen Rondavels oder kirgisisch/mongolischen Jurten, aber sehr luxuriös und liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Restaurant ist sensationell. Das Personal auch, ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön an unseren persönlichen Butler Indikah. Strand, Liegestühle, alle Möbel, alles perfekt. Sehr sauber."

"Ich und mein Partner hatten den besten Aufenthalt im De Pearla Resort. Farah war der Gastgeber der beste. Er kochte uns die wunderschönsten Mahlzeiten, hielt uns mit allem, was wir brauchen, Hilfe und machte unsere Reise so besonders. Er hat uns sogar gezeigt, wie man Biriyani kocht! Meine Freundin wurde in einem Tag mit Fieber krank und Farah ging oben und darüber hinaus, um sicherzustellen, dass wir alles in Ordnung waren und nachsehen. Es fühlte sich wirklich, als wären wir Teil der Familie geworden. Sein Sohn war auch sehr hilfreich und freundlich zu uns. De Perla ist ein ruhiges Stück Paradies, das sich wie ein Haus von zu Hause fühlte. Es war immer so erstaunlich, nach einem langen Tag Surfen und der Verrücktheit von Arugam Bay zurückzukommen. "Reservieren Sie diesen Ort nicht! Das ist echter Betrug! Sie verkaufen es als Strandhotel, obwohl es 2 km vom Strand entfernt ist! Es hat vielleicht Meerblick, aber auf keinen Fall Strandlage. Außerdem ist es super weit von Arugambay entfernt. Isoliert und man kann dort nichts unternehmen. Tun Sie sich selbst einen Gefallen – gehen Sie nicht dorthin. Oder wenn Sie reserviert haben – stornieren Sie! Und tun Sie das im Voraus, denn wir haben erst bei der Ankunft verstanden, dass es eine Falle ist, und gebeten, sofort zu gehen. Sie haben uns nur 50 % zurückerstattet. Und das auch erst, nachdem wir zur Touristenpolizei gegangen waren. Wir haben 900 $ verloren! Schrecklicher Ort."

"We looked forward to staying at Paper Moon. Our driver followed a sign to this hotel but travelling further saw a sign with 2 arrows pointing in opposite directions. Finally get to a gate with the Paper Moon board but no signs to reception. We called the contact number and were told we had to keep going down the driveway. Quite a few guys came running out and then disappeared. Nobody actually welcomed us and told us where we had to go. We eventually came to an open cafe area and quite a few guys just stood around not actually saying anything. No reception as such but the guy at the bar told us we were in the right place. We were given a welcome drink and they took our passports for check in but still didn’t tell us we had checked in. The rooms are individual units. Very simple but ok. The door doesn’t quite reach the ground which left me a bit nervous about creepy crawlies. The bathroom is huge but basic. No toiletries provided apart from a tiny cake of soap. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful and provided whatever food we asked for but having all male staff just hanging around all the time was quite intimidating. Staff should probably also not hover around the tables as often and leave guests to enjoy their meals. The place is also the local bar so locals are constantly at the bar window for their alcohol. That also left us feeling a bit unsafe as there was a drunken fight one night. There’s nothing around this hotel so it would have to be on a full board basis. Luckily we had a car and driver and were able to check out local cafes. The place was clean. Probably not ideal for solo or young ladies travelling alone."
