Logis Hôtel Restaurant Chaptal, Amboise

Sehr freundlicher und professioneller Empfang ohne Vorbehalt im letzten Moment unserer Ankunft in Amboise. Sehr gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Privatparkplatz (10€/Tag in der 75€-Rechnung enthalten) nur wenige Schritte vom Hotel entfernt oder kostenlos in weniger als 5 Minuten Entfernung. Sehr komfortables Zimmer, sehr trocken mit umschaltbarer Klimaanlage (im November fast am Flussufer, das ist wichtig). Italienische Dusche. Viele schöne Annehmlichkeiten (Safe, Seifen, Shampoo, Körperlotion ...) Betten SEHR bequem, auch für schwere Personen ... Lage weniger als 10 Minuten (zu Fuß) vom Schloss Amboise entfernt. Viele nette Restaurants in den umliegenden Straßen. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

This hotel is very centrally situated. Just a few metres from the river and from the quaint shopping streets which run parallel to the river. There are also historic buildings to explore nearby. There is parking belonging to the hotel, just around the corner on Quai des Marais. It's in a small private outdoor parking lot. There doesn't appear to be any security at the parking lot, but the streets are quiet, and we had no issues leaving our car there. There's a small charge per night for parking, payable to the hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They spoke fairly good English, so we managed to make ourselves understood. The room was a reasonable size and clean. The shower was quite small but worked well. Although the streets look small, the hotel seems to be on a main thoroughfare, so if you're bothered by traffic noise, ask for a room at the back of the hotel. There is no lift, so you need to be able to handle stairs. The reception closes at 9pm, but we were given a key code to use to get into the side door after that time. There is another Logis hotel on the same street, closer to the river. That one has a restaurant attached - Café Voltaire. You can get a discount there because you're staying at the Chaptal. I would definitely recommend you eat there. We had a very warm and friendly welcome and the meal was one of the best I've had since coming to France.

Small dog friendly hotel. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good. Our room. Was small but had all the amenities we needed especially as we were only staying one night. Great location. Wish we had stayed longer .

We stayed three nights in this hotel. First, I must give kudos to the afternoon/evening receptionist. He was extremely helpful in locating a laundromat, assisting in making a dinner reservation and making inquiries regarding barbers and gas stations. We stayed on the third floor of the hotel which was a bit like a habitrail with stairs going up and down to reach our room. (Note--if you are physically challenged, this would be difficult and there is no elevator.) The room was basic. There was something strange about the wifi because we had trouble sending photos and it periodically disconected. Our room looked out on the side street and was reasonably quiet. The breakfast was good. Parking is a couple of blocks away and is in a secure lot.

Great hotel in Ambroise. Close to everything and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Carried our luggage up to the second floor which was very nice. Would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Ambroise. Good value as well
