We just finished a two-week road trip, staying in a different hotel almost every night. My wife and I judged Alpine Bed and Breakfast to be the best. What's not to like: -- The location is close to downtown with everything within walking distance. -- The rooms are huge. -- It seemed very clean. --The breakfast was out of this world (with probably 15 choices). They encourage you to try different menu items. -- The grounds are park-like. -- There's covered parking. -- The amenities -- shampoos, , bedding, robes, etc. -- are top notch. -- The wrap-around porch of this vintage house is made for sipping wine. -- The owners are pleasant people who are truly devoted to making your stay enjoyable. They have complied numerous pamphlets with local restaurant hours and menus as well as things to do around Alpine. -- If you stay in downtown Alpine, train noise can be bit much much for some people. Here, the trains are in the distance and are really kind of soothing. (Although ear plugs are provided.) -- There's a refrigerator for the guests that's stocked with water, soft drinks and juices. To be honest I can't really come up with any negatives. We have stayed in Alpine probably a dozen times over the years and, from now on, Alpine Bed and Breakfast will be our go-to accommodation.
