Castle in the Country

We came across this GEM while searching for a quick, no hassle elopement. Boy, Castle in the Country did not disappoint! We decided on an intimate setting with just the two of us. This was the most spontaneous and best decision we could have made! Everyone from Cailyn to Spencer to Meg were excellent to work with! Cailyn welcomed us to the property when we arrived. We went over the final details we/they had planned for us; asked if I, as the bride, would need any assistance before the wedding the next day too! All very accommodating and stress free! We had the place to ourselves for a couple days. Despite the thunderstorms and rain, the day was perfect. I would also highly recommend Aftergow Salon in downtown Allegan, MI for hair and makeup. It is a small, chic salon in an old building. Very cool and calming atmosphere. Both the morning of our wedding and the next day, our breakfast was delivered to the door to our room. It was almost too pretty to eat! Spencer is an AMAZING cook and his hospitality is top notch! Meg, our photographer, was also wonderful to work with. She was patient, funny and had great ideas for photos despite the weather. Her quick turn around on our photos was so appreciated! 10/10 RECOMMEND Castle in the Country. Especially if you are looking for an intimate, small wedding or elopement. Cailyn and Spencer handled all our wedding details flawlessly and with very minimal effort from me! It was exactly what we were looking for! We will absolutely be back every year to celebrate our anniversary. In fact, I already have a photo book idea in mind for celebrating all four seasons there! Thank you all for making our wedding so special. It will absolutely be a day we remember and we will be back!

What an incredible weekend. From start to finish every detail was covered. Friendly, attentive staff, comfortable and beautiful accommodations and property, and delicious daily breakfasts. So much to see and do in the area. Time for massages, hiking, skiing, winery tours, snowshoeing, cooking our own steaks at the Grill House (a must do!) Thank you Spencer and Cailyn for making this place so special. Also thank you to our hardworking chef who provided delicious breakfast each morning (I didn’t catch her name). This is such a special place. Can’t wait to return with friends during the fall.

My husband and I chose Castle in the Country’s elopement package because we wanted an intimate ceremony, just the two of us. From check in to checkout, everything was just perfect. Ruth explained the schedule, the property and the local area attractions at check in. The wedding was very personal, just us, the officiant, photographer and the innkeepers as our witnesses. Our package included flowers and a cake too! We stayed 3 nights in The Camelot Suite which was impeccably decorated and spotless. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious and quite filling. We will definitely be back again. Thank you all for making our memories very special.
