Das Hotel liegt ruhig direkt am Meer und hat einen Sandstrand. Liegen und Strandtücher waren kostenlos. Alles ist sauber. Das Personal freundlich & höflich. Das Zimmer war eher klein, aber ausreichend. Der Balkon dagegen - ein Witz. Gerade mal 50-60cm tief. Es reicht für 2 Stühle und 1 kleinen Tisch. Warum die Klimaanlagen bereits bei 22 Grad auch im Restaurant laufen müssen, hat sich uns nicht erschlossen. Die Kälte war mitunter unangenehm. Wir haben im Zimmer die Anlage aus gestellt - am nächsten Tag wurde sie vom Zimmer-Service wieder eingestellt. Das Hotel ist hellhörig! Vor allem von den Gängen vor dem Zimmer kriegt man mehr mit, als man möchte. Mitunter auch um 20 Uhr den Gesang aus dem Nachbarzimmer.... Wir probierten ein Abendessen im hoteleigenem Restaurant und wurden enttäuscht. Am Rindersteak war z.B. viel zu viel Fett. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und es dürfte für jeden etwas dabei sein. An der Bar sind diverse Cocktails zu bekommen. Der alkoholfreie ”Le Bombarde” ist zwar lecker - aber mit 8 Euro unverschämt teuer, wenn man realisiert, dass 80% des Glas-Inhaltes aus Eis besteht und man gerade mal 150 bis 200ml Fruchtsaft im Glas hat. Ja, das Hotel hat einen Pool. Nur leider war der nicht zugänglich, da gesperrt. Schade, denn es sah nett aus und es wäre eine schöne Alternative zum leider noch sehr kaltem Meer gewesen. Ja, das Hotel hat auch Zimmer mit Blick auf den Pinienwald. Man muss nur berücksichtigen, dass hinter den Büschen (in ungefähr 20 Meter Entfernung) erstmal ein Parkplatz liegt und dann erst der Wald anfängt (in ca. 50 Meter Entfernung). Man hat also des Öfteren an- und abfahrende Autos in Hörweite. Alles in allem haben wir uns wohlgefühlt - aber nochmal würden wir nicht buchen.

We stayed for 8 days. The hotel was very clean through out. The staff were very friendly especially the Breakfast staff who were always smiling. The breakfast was fabulous. Fresh fruit was on hand everyday to make your own fruit drinks. The omelettes and fried eggs cooked fresh in front of you. Great variety of cheeses, breads and cakes. They provided gluten free items also. The bedrooms were very clean and bright and the bathroom had a fab spacious shower. Kettle, tea and coffee were provided in the room. The hotel is setback from the roadside and this means no traffic noise. The beach is across the road where there are beach bars, beds and umbrellas. There is a lovely clean safe promenade from the beach side all the way to old town which is about a 15 mins walk. Short walk to train station. Good supermarket 5 minutes away. There is a roof top swimming pool in the hotel which has beds and umbrellas, the water in the pool is very clean but cold. The bar facilities appears not to be used very often due to its small size. This was the one area that let this lovely quiet hotel down. We went to the old town most nights. We were very happy with our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Die Möbel lassen viel als Datum und ein unerfreulicher Geruch in dem Zimmer wünschen. Am zweiten Tag hatten wir den Reinigungsdienst in den Zimmern und das Badschuh wurde nicht ersetzt. Ich hatte viel mehr erwartet, was wir bezahlt haben, da nicht einmal das Frühstück in den Preis einbezogen wurde.

Siamo stati ad Alghero tante volte e in tante strutture e posso dire finalmente di aver trovato il nostro posto!! Bella l’idea del check-in in autonomia, non ti vincola con l’orario di arrivo. La struttura è meravigliosa, la camera era perfetta con l’idromassaggio che l’arricchiva ancora di più. Massima pulizia e attenzione al dettaglio. Ben riscaldata. Ampia, luminosa. Con un prezzo adeguato all’ offerta. Il personale gentilissimo, la donna delle pulizie con il passo felpato di un gatto aveva già iniziato a pulire le stanze e non ci siamo resi conto di niente ( altre volte siamo stati svegliati in malo modo da rumori molesti di mobili e letto spostati). La colazione al bar accanto buona e con personale allegro e disponibile. TORNEREMO PRESTO

We stayed at Carlos V again this year, just like last year. What made us really happy was that Daniela from the restaurant, the reception staff, and even the cleanup lady remembered us. (The cleanup lady even remembered which floor we stayed on last year!) Once again, we had a wonderful summer vacation here. To start, at reception, we were upgraded from a garden view room to a sea view room. The view was absolutely stunning! The restaurant staff were very kind, and we were glad we chose the half-board option. We also enjoyed using the pool bar. Although we saw a few negative reviews, after seeing how hard the staff work in such hot and busy conditions, I can’t bring myself to say anything negative. Thank you again for another fantastic summer. We truly had a great time!

A lovely little hotel on the quieter side of Alghero. About 8 minutes’ walk to a small sandy bay, no facilities though and about another 30 minutes to the main beach. Make sure you walk far enough so you don’t smell the rotting sea****, which is a shame because it is a fantastic wide white sandy beach. The hotel room was spacious but minimal and the balcony was lovely and big. Breakfast was the same every day, but everything was fresh. Lovely staff throughout, the waitresses were always on hand if you needed anymore coffee and the reception staff were very helpful if we needed more pillows or coat hangers. We were asked throughout our stay if everything was ok, which it was until we came to check out. We had heard that there wasn’t any where to leave our suitcases, but this wasn’t the case, has we were told we could leave them behind reception, which was fine by us. As we had a late flight, we did ask if we could sit on the roof top terrace but were polity told, that has we were no longer residents we were not allowed up there anymore. We have travelled around Europe and never encountered this policy before, so decided to walk to the beach with beds as we knew there wasn’t anywhere to shower if we were sandy when we came back. On our return we were told we could change in the toilets in the TV room, but when we asked to buy a coffee while we were waiting for our taxi, this was also refused us because we were no longer residents!!! There are no close bars or cafes round this hotel. All I can say is, this did spoil our holiday and our experience of this hotel. If you have a late flight, perhaps this hotel is not the right place for you.

We are currently staying at Hotel Calabona and I needed to write a review as it is absolutely exceptional. The staff are so wonderful always smiling and helpful Adriana In the Cala Bistrot is the most helpful beautiful person looking after us so well. The reception staff are so helpful and kind the staff at breakfast are incredible so so hardworking. The breakfast is located downstairs in a beautiful light banquet room, the choice is incredible from a barista making fresh coffee to someone cooking made to order eggs to the juicing machine to make your own fresh juice the choice is amazing and varied with something for everyone. The pool is meticulously clean and tended to and has lots of very comfortable loungers. There is a gorgeous private beach also which is stunning and large beach towels are provided for €3 if needed. The rooms are perfect very clean beautiful balcony’s with comfy chairs and the bathroom is very well equipped with hairdryer and toiletries provided. So far 10/10 for this wonderful hotel. The walk to the old town is 15 minutes down hill with panoramic views so so beautiful and a complementary shuttle bus is provided if you don’t fancy walking up or down! We are on honeymoon and enjoying every second.
