This is a fantastic self-catering base for a great stay in Sardinia. The location is only an eight minute drive from the main old city, but due to it's position up a hillside, you feel you are in a peaceful, mountain resort. We stayed in the largest of the villas, an 8-person, three bedroom one. The main bedroom was spacious with a reasonably comfortable king-size bed, the second bedroom had twin beds, and the third room a single bed that can be converted to a small double. The main sitting room had a convertable sofa bed but we left it as a couch. The beds in the other rooms were not the most comfortable according those who slept in them, but the main bedroom was fine. We paid extra in advance for a microwave and a kettle. The kitchen is small, and the crockery is limited (we bought a couple of wine glasses ourselves rather than using the small glasses that were available) but it contains most of what you would expect in a self-catering home. You'll need to bring your own tea towels and there was no oven glove to handle hot dishes so we bought one of those aswell. Each villa has a great, charcoal-burning barbecue on the patio. I had been a bit concerned before we left, having read some of the reviews here, but I needn't have worried. The villa was spotlessly clean. If you are arriving late at night make sure you contact the very helpful team at reception a number of days before so that they can make arrangements for you to get the key etc. The ladies at reception are very friendly and helpful with suggestions for beaches and restaurants and anything we asked for was dealt with immediately. The resort has a small pool, with a stunning view overlooking olive groves and the Alghero bay that was perfect for a quiet dip. There is a lifeguard on duty for some time during the day - he was a really nice guy, and you can also buy icecream, snacks and a drink from his small cabin too if you are too lazy to go back to your fridge in your villa 😉. You must have your own transport to stay here - it is outside any public transport links. There are bikes available to hire on site, but we didn't fancy cycling on the narrow winding roads / hills. There are three different supermarkets a kilometre from the villas - MD, EuroSpin and Iper Nonna - in a small retail park, and there's a Lidl another kilometer further away too, so there should be no problem getting supplies. We were there in early June and it was really quiet in the evenings. Sitting in the porch, or even better on the roof terrace, watching the sunset and listening to the birds singing was a highlight ... maybe it gets busier/noisier in the peak summer, but we found it incredibly peaceful and restful. Our villa had a basement with a washing machine and ironing board. There was a hairdryer too. TV was showing standard Italian free to air channels, but it had a HDMI port if you wanted to connect up something else to it. We absolutely loved our stay and would love to come back aga
