Eden Resort

The layout of the resort is unusual. Apartment/villas are laid out around a large area, which can be driven around and there is loads of free parking outside each accommodation type. The reception area has a bar and restaurant included within it, which is a separate building to accommodation. The buildings are all painted in various pastel type colours making a very pretty resort. If you had one of the apartments at the far end of the resort, it’s still less than 10 mins walk to reception/restaurant/bar. We had an apartment with 2 double bedrooms and there was also a double sofa bed in the lounge, though we didn’t use that. The apartment was very spacious, clean and modern. It was cleaned daily, beds made daily and towels changed daily if needed. In the kitchen there was a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, lots of cutlery, knives etc. A nice touch would’ve been some washing up liquid. We didn’t make much use of the kitchen other than making some drinks as we were all inclusive. There was an en-suite bathroom and a separate main bathroom. However, there was only 1 hairdryer, which not ideally was in the main bathroom. So if there were 6 of you getting ready and several of you need a hairdryer, there could be a wait while you wait for people to finish in the bathroom. There was lots of hanging space in the main bedroom, only half the amount in the second bedroom as one half of the wardrobe was locked (possibly used for storage). There was no chest of drawers or dressing table in either bedroom, so there was no real surface space to put anything down on in the bedrooms. There were bedside tables, but they were small and low (basically one drawer with no legs). A silly point, but I really missed not having something to put things down on easily! Beds were comfortable. The main bedroom and lounge opened onto a patio area with a sun loungers and table and chairs. We went in March which was out of season. The all inclusive did get busy at times. I can’t imagine how it would cope in full season when at full capacity. Although we always found something to eat and never went hungry, I think that with such a well equipped kitchen in the apartment, if I went back to the resort, I’d go self catering. You certainly won’t be missing much with the all inclusive drinks. They were ok, but the cocktails were disappointing. The pool area looked nice, but we never used it as it wasn’t really hot enough when we were there. The pool bar was also closed when we were there. All the staff we came across were friendly and happy to help. Luckily we’d booked a hire car for the duration of our stay, which was we picked up in Albufeira. It’s only about €4 for their equivalent of an Uber into Albufeira. It would be quite a bit of a walk all along very busy roads, so could be a walked, but not the nicest walk and very busy roads. Wonderful Resort we have visited 4 times and gets better each year. Perfect for families with young children, the villas are very clean and spacious, food always beautiful and the snack bar is handy for the kids. The pools are perfect for our family and the kids area/pools keep our children busy. The staff make this place amazing, Victoria in Reservations always a pleasure to deal with when booking, the reception staff always so friendly, the restaurant/bar staff always so busy and work very hard and nothing is ever a problem and a big thank you to Vanessa and Cintia in the Entertainment/Kids club they make Eden a real fun place and our children adore them not forgetting Eddie the Turtle. Apartment - Very spacious and we liked the fact that our apartment (92) was tucked away in the corner so it felt very private - what we didn't like was the noise from the road which passes along the South side of the resort and thus could be heard by any of the apartments positioned on this side of the resort. I suppose if you live on a road normally, this may not be an issue, but we live somewhere rural so we're not used to traffic noise and found this ruined the ambience somewhat. The cleaners were very thorough, but arrived at a a different time every day, which could be annoying if you'd been out for part of the day and then they turn up shortly after you get back as it meant we had to go out again to give them the space to clean up. We would have happily planned our day to be out when the cleaners were due to arrive, but as there was no consistency on the timings, this wasn't possible and I've not found this so much of a problem in other hotels/resorts. Resort in general - Beautiful, well designed buildings set around perfectly manicured gardens and swimming pools/kids club area/mini lake. It was a nice size for walking around when trying to get the toddlers off to sleep in the buggy, and apart from the music being played in the main pool, and the road noise when on the south side of the resort, it was extremely peaceful. If we stayed again, we would request an apartment away from the south side, but they were fully booked during the week we were there so couldn't get moved. Food - Superb - the freshly cooked pizzas were amazing. Always a good selection of meats, fish, vegetables. The soup was a little bland for my taste but the desserts were plentiful and very tasty. My only negative is I would have liked a few baby/toddler friendly puddings at lunch and dinner such as yoghurt and rice pudding - my toddlers don't eat jelly/ice cream/adult puddings yet so didn't have a pudding most mealtimes. I also didn't see any jam/marmalade/marmite to put on toast at breakfast, nor any porridge, which is unusual. Kids facilities - We didn't try the kids club as both my toddlers are under 4. I did try to take my 2yr old in to the kids play area on 1 occasion and found 3 boys around 11yrs old playing archery and golf - although both of these sports kits were child friendly (plastic, not metal arrows and golf clubs) the area was definitely not safe for toddlers as the golf person in particularly was whacking the soft golf ball without looking at what was around him so I had to take my toddler straight back out. Fair enough this was just bad timing as we didn't see the boys in the kids zone at any other time later in the week, but we didn't take my toddlers in there again and I feel it would be better if the hotel had an area for under 5's only to play away from the more energetic older kids. Excellent resort with fantastic clean and quality apartments. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Facilities excellent. Restaurant well organised at all times with great choice and good food. Great communication. Located in a quiet location but accessible to all attractions. Only thing to improve for us would be the evening entertainment. But would highly recommend as so relaxing and stress free. We will be going again this year.

We've stayed in many resorts with our children but this, without doubt is one of the best. Is it faultness?- no. Do any of the negatives outweigh the good? Absolutely not! This complex is impeccably kept and pristine across all areas. The attention to detail across all areas is second to none. The buffet lunch and dinner are definitely the best we've experienced on an AI experience. Plentiful array of fresh fish, fruit and veg. This is not your standard AI fare. The food is cooked with care and attention to detail.The staff in the resteraunt are so efficient and engaging. They do an absolutely outstanding job and it's clear that they take pride in what they do. We salute you all and are grateful for the part you all played in our memorable experience. The accommodation is clean and roomy. The pools are also pristine and the poolside bar service is perfect. If I had to look at a few negatives I would say that it was a disappointment to us to realise that the kidsclub is only for use under parental supervision. I understand this for younger children but for older children it would be good for parents to be able to grab an hour together. I realise there are possibly reasons for this being the case but we'd have been happier if we'd known this fact in advance. That said though, the staff in the kids club were fantastic and took pride in their roles as entertainers. The little park that accompanies the kids club is perfect for younger children. Again though, although there is football pitch/tennis available on site we feel the resort would benefit from a park/recreational area suited to children age 6 and over. The play area ajoining the kids club isnt sufficient for an older age group. We visited over the Easter Holidays and understandably the resort was busy. That said though, despite fantastic evening entertainment suitable for families, the bar area where this was hosted was not large enough to accommodate the volume of those interested in participating. Seating was limited and aside from this the space quite simply just is not big enough. All in all though, would I reccomend this resort? Absolutely! Would we return, most definitely! Did the positives outweigh the negatives? Absolutely, without doubt! Thank you all for a most wonderful Easter break. Eden Resort is our favourite place to unwind and enjoy holidays with the whole family. The kids have the pool, the football and tennis pitches to choose from, while the parents can have a coffee or sip a drink at the pool bar, or work out in the gym. The cliffs and beaches of the Algarve are not far if you have a rental car. The crowd is predominantly English – which guarantees hearty breakfast and friendly faces around you.
