"High touch service in a beautiful and relaxing boutique inn is what you get at Casa del Sol Inn. From the moment we arrived everything was taken care of including private round trip transfers from the airport. Elizabeth arranged for us to go horseback riding and we were picked up at the front door with the horses ready for our ride. The sumptuous breakfast will energize you for your daily exploration and activities. The portions were ample and we never needed lunch, just an early dinner. The hotel showcases artists’ paintings and sculptures. Another artist is Efra, the bartender, who makes a killer margarita and great conversation. The rooms have a huge shower, comfy beds and pillows, TV and WiFi. Just outside our room was a courtyard with a pool and beautiful wall of flowers attracting hummingbirds. You’ll feel like you’ve escaped to an oasis with lush tropical plants indoors and out. The rooftop terraces gave stunning views and quiet places to read, journal and nap. From pampering services including a rooftop massage and a lay down mani-pedi it was no problem. Elizabeth made appointments on our behalf. Like to golf? 5 minutes away is Chula Vista Country Club which is an experience not to be missed. The town of Ajijic is very walkable in sneakers and supportive sandals. Heels, including wedges aren’t recommended as the streets are literally made from stones. The trailhead to el Tepalo is nearby. Stroll lakeside on the malecón only about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. If you’re a foodie, appreciate peace and quiet and like art this is an excellent hotel for you!"

"Lovely hotel, a block from the main square. It's a family business and they really do treat you like family! I was invited to their family Christmas party: free drinks and dinner. The owner and staff were very friendly and tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. And the food at the restaurant is inexpensive and excellent. I can't say enough about how friendly they were. And the breakfast is included in the price!"
