"HHONTEUX !! NO COMPATIBLE !!!! I put the minimum note because I can not put less not for the quality of the service but rather for the lack of compatible of these people. We had to make a small periphery in three different places for our 10 years of marriage, and unfortunately we had to cancel it because my husband's grandmother died suddenly in Portugal and he had to leave for the gifts. The other 2 reservations have been cancelled for the first without charge and delayed the date for the next to not lose the forecast. He said that any cancellation was lost and that the payment was lost. He didn't want to delay the date unless he arrived to relocate it between time and keeping us aware only of the morning of the booking. He just told us he had already had too many cancellations for weather or other bidden reasons and that he had mouths to feed so he will not make the refund or delay as well. He asked us for 1 death certificate I don't know why because he doesn't refund but Sil had wanted to refund or change date I would have provided him with even the air tickets proving the authenticity of this sudden event. "Very disappointed. Rooms average, toilet seat broken. Light switch to bathroom temperamental. Booked as a 3 night stay as part of a car rally, booked table in resturant -- no table reserved. Very chaotic only one choice for evening meal. Chicken and rice, bar expensive for drinks. Room key kept failing, had to keep going to reception. Staff inexperienced. Breakfast chaotic with big queues, drinks machine inconveniently located. Will definitely not stay there again."

"A very nice warm welcome from proprietor who explained the history of the hotel and showed us to our room, the red room as it is known. Very clean and nicely furnished with seperate toilet shower/bath. Water and tea were provided but not coffee..you pay extra for that downstairs if you want it. There is no bar area, but plenty of bars within minutes of hotel, with one literally two doors down popular with locals. Breakfast is very simple continental fare. The breakfast room is a bit snug and people were waiting to be seated when we were there. Some quiet background music would make it more appealing. Parking was easy in the car park at rear of hotel. As is usual in France, restaurants and some bars close on a Sunday and Monday so make provision for that. We would certainly stay again if in the area."
