Maison des Croisades

I spent the weekend at Hotel des Croisades and found the rooms to be clean and the welcome warm. Rooms are basic but a decent size with tv, aircon and free wifi so provided everything needed for a short stay. I didn't have the best sleep whilst I was there as the walls to the room were very thin and I was woken up several times by the guests next door. There is also a cockeral nearby that likes crowing at sunrise, so if you are a light sleeper I would recommend ear plugs. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel but the garden area where it was served seemed nice. I decided to walk into a cafe in town which offered cheaper breakfast with better views. Everyone I met at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Best of all is the location which is so convenient and offers everything close at hand, the walled town, boats into the camargue, boats to le grau du roi. Aigues Mortes is a fantastic town and this hotel offers a reasonably priced option for visiting it. Had it not been for the noisy neighbours the rating would have been higher!

We received a lovely welcome by the owner, along with drinks, but unfortunately, for us, the hotel was only opened up at 4:00 when we arrived walking from Vauvert at 3:00 and looking for a place to rest up. At least the anteroom was open so we had a seat. The room was very small with very little room for our suitcases and during the night the room was quite noisy from some late night guests in the hallway which was not appreciated. There was no street noise. The hotel is very close to the old town walls, just across the canal.

The hotel "plus": location (in front of the Constance tower, 5mn walk from city center), quiet, charming hosts and very good breakfast. We were less enthusiastic about the room itself: old fashioned, bathroom's sliding door would let a doubtful smell get into the bedroom... But it was clean, with air conditioning and flat tv.

This hotel is very well located, right across the canal from the old town. There are many good restaurants within walking distance. The hotel offers free parking an municipal parking lots, a convenience. The rooms are clean, and quite basic. If you are looking for luxury, this is not for you. The one complaint is that the acoustic insulation was not great, and while it was not unpleasant we could hear the little girl playing next door. What really stood out was that the owner was very helpful and stored our bicycles in his garage and our luggage while we visited the boat show in La Grande Motte.

Great location across the river from the town Center. Rooms/bathrooms may look a little dated but are well maintained, fantastic breakfast with good coffee and amazing bread/croissants/jam etc and best service you could wish for. Free parking nearby
