Wellington Hotel by Greene King Inns

Badly in need of a refurbishment. I was in Room 5, a lovely quiet room at the back of the hotel which I appreciated.It was a room with disabled bathroom. Bed had clean linen, mattress was bumpy, bed frame ripped at bottom, shower curtain mouldy, disabled rails all rusty, boxed in pipes wood falling apart. No USB points. Fortunately all I needed was a bed for two nights so didn’t spend time in the room. It was cheap. It was room only. Didn’t eat there. As part of Greene King Inns it was disappointing. It didn’t look like the TV screen images in the room

Here for work and enjoying our stay here at the wellington. Karen and the team have been brilliant and nothing is a issue to them. Service has been brilliant and banter top notch. Will be back again to stay. Food has been brilliant too along with the rooms basic but showers good

I came in for a quick meal with my family last week. They have a nice pet friendly area and plenty of parking. The service was quick and the food came out nice and hot. AWe had great service from Riccardo, very polite and friendly. Will be back again in the future.

Warm welcome from the member of staff who checked us in. Unfortunately I didnt get his name, but he was very well organised. He allowed our son to check in early. He arrived a day later than us after travelling all night. A room was made available for him so he could get his head down for a few hours. For the money we paid per room we thought it was very good value for money. Yes, bedroom furniture was a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and fresh linen. The rooms had everything you need in them. A bit of Maintenance is required in rooms, window catches in particular. Little more attention on high level cleaning (window frames) and around toilet bowl! Breakfast was served hot and plenty of it, continental breakfast was help yourself. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the name of the lad (member of staff) who checked us in but he was there most of the time, we were there (3 days), he was on reception, on the bar, serving food, just great with keeping everything flowing. We would definitely stay there again, location was great.

Popped in for my weekly , wow when it's good it's good but when you get it wrong , it's wrong , No pickle in burger , doesn't mean serve it with pickle wait for me to notice , how do you deal with it , take it to the kitchen remove the pickle then reserve I COULD HAVE REMOVED IT MYSEL. Here's a word for you ALLERGIES , can I upgrade to cheese and bacon on fries , doesn't mean I want chips ,

We stayed for a night and had dinner so the review is for both experiences. The staff at check in were very helpful and the room was comfortable albeit as it was situated right by the door into the restaurant/bar area, we were disturbed by the door banging quite a lot. The 5 rating is mainly for the food in the restaurant. The servers were friendly but a little slow and not too attentive. We had to wait a while for the bill at the end of the meal. The food was amazing, however, we had the chicken skewer and the salmon and both were beautifully presented and delicious. We also shared a cookie dough dessert that was yummy too!!! Really good value. Loved the food.
