Sakrisøy Gjestegård - Manor House in Sakrisøy - Solbakken anno 1880

This was my third stay at Sakrisøy Gjestegard. Lofoten is my favourite destination in Norway and have been visiting it about 10 times. Sakrisøy/Reine/Hamnøy is the most scenic and beautiful places in Lofoten and I always spend most of the time here. The true reason why Sakrisøy Gjestegard is one of the very best places to stay in Lofoten is the nice host that works there! - he made us feel so welcome and comfortable all the time. Our room (Olstind) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want. Scrupulously clean and quiet for a good night sleep. The room had a balcony with beautiful view toward my favourite mountain (Olstind – see my attached photos) The hotel is always kept spotless both in rooms and the public areas. A huge congratulation to the hard-working host! I am sure that I will be back again to Sakrisøy Gjestegard on my next visit to Lofoten. Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

A beautiful guesthouse on a little island surronded by rugged peaks and green sea! The english housekeeper was very nice and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was lovely and very especially enjoyed the shared kitchen/living room with a lot of goodies and coffee.

Our room at the top of the house was a quiet and comfortable retreat. The view from the bathroom was amazing, no problem brushing teeth for at least 2 minutes! Our host was very welcoming. We would gladly come back! The only minor note was that the curtains for one of the windows were a bit thin and the room stayed light all night. I'd recommend bringing a comfortable sleep mask if you are visiting Norway in the summer.
