Accra|1.16km vom StadtzentrumDon't waste your time with the Marriott, stay at the Movenpick or Kempinski if you can. - On arrival at the airport the airport transfer man was missing and I had to call the hotel then wait for 15 minutes until he came from somewhere. Bit annoying as all the other hotel’s staff were very present. - Simple items like “grilled cheese” is not in stock in the restaurants. I mean, how can you not have bread and cheese? - On the menu it says “half portions of pasta available” so I ordered this given I wasn’t very hungry. Not only did a full portion come (such a waste of food), they charge the same for a half portion as they do for the full portion. I wasn’t really concerned about the money, but I questioned it out of principle, and they claimed that they charge for the “sauce” not the pasta. What a ridiculous statement, if you’re going to offer half portions, you should probably charge less and serve then proceed to provide the correct size. - If you order a condiment like Ketchup can take the staff up to 40 minutes to bring it - The property doesn’t value platinum bonvoy guests. Requested suite upgrade for my 5 Marriott suite nights and non was given even though they were still selling multiple Junior Suites on the website so they definitely had space - The executive lounge is closed. They give you vouchers instead which the staff are really funny about using - you can only order from a list of 4 things for food, and only at the bar. You can’t eat or drink anywhere else in the hotel. I’m not sure what the big deal is because the staff all use one central kitchen so I don’t see the issue in eating by the pool. The menu is the same everywhere. - Even after using the voucher they still proceeded to post to my room and I had to explain this was a voucher and argue at check out to get it removed. Complete waste of time - I tried to use a Marriott gift card to pay. They refused to accept it even though its supposed to be valid in all Marriott hotels globally - they claimed they didn’t have the software. Emailed the GM as I really wanted to use (and get rid of it) it and didn’t get a response Also more generally the hotel is tired and is no competition for the Kempinski or Movenpick.
